I just don't know sometimes...(Encouragement, please...)

I believe in the change that Democrats in general, and Obama/Biden can bring to us in particular.

I am so, so, SOOOOO sick and tired of the last eight years.

I'm so sick on how the Republicans call their fringes "moderate", and our moderates "extreme".

I'm so sick of how they pander with things we should hold sacred and special: country, faith, our soldiers, the kinship of countrymen. They use them as codewords, dog whistle language, and disposable props in their campaigning, and forget about them when they are in office.

I'm so sick of their twisted, "ends justify the means" methods, destroying whoever they can, and if they cannot find something wrong with an adversary, they'll just make crap up.

I'm so very sick of a populace of sheep that willingly suspend logic and, acting in direct contravention of their own best interests, perk their collective ears up in response to the dog whistle politics of the Republicans, and start salivating.

But I'm most sick (I mean, pit of my stomach, can't think of anything else sick) when I realize that their disgusting behavior, in concert with what I believe will be another attempt to steal this election through Election Fraud, will probably work this time. The fact that more than half of this nation actually would consider voting for the two miserable excuses for Americans and politicians makes me want to cry.

I'm a peaceful person. I'm law abiding. But now...NOW I can fully understand why the cities burn when this happens in other countries.

Can I have some encouragement, my fellow DUers?

Duke

2. I find encouragement in being with like-minded others in my community.
There are many groups around working on a variety of issues and aspects of our situation: political groups, environmental groups, artist groups, issue groups, religious groups, local food growers, volunteer organization . . . . I wear a silver peace sign pendant everywhere. Talking with others keeps me motivated.

3. You said it -- we just don't know.
There is no way we can tell what's in store for us -- look at how many twists and turns this race has taken thus far. We can't worry about something that MIGHT happen, we just must do what we can to see it doesn't.

This reminds me of a girl I worked with who was afraid she was pregnant. She was a wreck because she knew her parents would have a fit (daddy was a preacher). I kept saying, Ashley, why don't you wait until you find out for sure before you give yourself an ulcer? She couldn't get it out of her mind. We were driving down the road and I said "Ashley, in your mind, what are you doing right now?" "Telling my mother and father about my pregnancy and seeing the looks on their faces." She played that tape and others over and over in her head until she found out, naturally, that she WASN'T pregnant. All that worry, angst, freaking out for nothing.
