As least that's what I heard on Countdown. Did anyone else catch that?

Note: I am still BOYCOTTING MSNBC just not Countdown, Rachel's show, or Hardball (hey he did get axed with Keith).

On edit: From what I understood the road to nowhere led to the bridge to nowhere (as in they were to connect).

So I guess it was thanks but no thanks to the bridge to nowhere but what the heck I'll use part of it to fund the road to nowhere.

3. It was a new road that was supposed to connect to the bridge to nowhere.
At least that's what I understood it to be.

6. I thought she kept the lead up and road and bridge approach money
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 11:06 PM by HughMoran
...and spent it elsewhere. So, not only did she not actually oppose it until Washington told her to take a flying fuck, but she still kept part of the money already in the pipeline.

She's a lying liar.

8. Alaska kept ALL of the money meant for the Bridge to Nowhere
and spent it on other infrastructure projects. This is even worse than wasteful spending. Just kept the money and spent it on something else.

9. Yeah they kept the money BUT part was used for a road to nowhere (not exactly a great infrastructure
project).

11. Reported elsewhere
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 11:25 PM by DeschutesRiver
Most of the fed dollars were for the building of the bridge. Apparently there were no conditions REQUIRING the bridge to actually be built with those funds. So Sarah kept the money and used it for other unrelated projects.

But a portion of the funds had a condition - if those funds earmarked to build the access road to the bridge on Gravina Island were not used for that purpose, then Sarah could NOT keep those funds for other projects. The $$ would revert back to the feds.

So instead of giving up one single dime, even though without the bridge, there is no fucking point in having the access road TO the non-existent bridge, Palin ordered that the road be built, rather than send that money back to the feds.

So now there appears to be a new road on Gravina Island, leading to a non-existent Bridge to Nowhere. A Road to Nowhere?

Stupid, stupid woman.

2. I do know that she kept the over $5 million dollars in earmarks slotted for the road...
And that she campaigned HARD for it (despite her lies at the rTHUG convention) .. but I didn't catch any of the shows tonight so I'm not up on what they reported..
