I honestly don't know of anyone else. KO and Rachel would be great, but they'd be dismissed as too partisan.

59. If McCain had any balls, that's who he'd pick.
Hartmann always bends over backwards to treat his conservative guests with respect.

The only exception to that I've ever heard was when he interviewed Jerome Corsi. And Corsi richly deserved every vile, crazy thing Thom tossed at him.

(Even Thom later admitted one of the questions--involving James Carville and Mary Matalin, and the allegation that Corsi requested sexual services from the former as a precondition to working with the latter--was over the top, and he apologized immediately after.)

she'll never show her face near any of these folks anyway... Tim Russert. The ultimate live vetting machine. His destruction of David Duke was a thing of beauty, and he'd so the same thing with this BS-filled, pea-brained nutcase inside of a few minutes.

I miss Tim Russert. He'd be a voice of reason in response to all of this horrible bombardment of lies from the right. I know he's been on the R's side before, but he sure seemed to hate it when he thought folks were full of shit. He'd hammer her good, and she'd be back in the woods the next day for good.

Both are calm, reasonable and non-combative in tone and brilliantly incisive and informed in their approach to relevant issues. There would be nothing left except for a pair of smoking high heels and a small pile of moose shit.

Honestly, there are so many good choices all of whom would leave so much blood on the floor.

55. Jeremy Paxman or John Humphrys.
Sorry, but THESE guys are completely capable of cutting down ANYONE to size.

Jeremy Paxman asked the then Home Secretary the same question 12 times, getting evasive answers each time.

John Humphrys was censured for branding all politicians as liars. Also it is reported that Tony Blair hated being interviewed by him and when it was time for him to come on, he'd try to pick days when John Humprhys was off.

Yes, they're Brits but trust me, they'd tear both McPain and Obama a new one, though Obama would come off better, naturally. Sarah Palin vs these two? Ha! They'd have her for breakfast!

Bully types are classic wimps. Olbermann proved that during the spring when he ridiculed Hillary nightly then barely asked her anything of substance when she appeared on his show. She smiled right through him while he overdosed on thank yous.

I would trust someone like Tom Brokaw. He would be care free about image and hit all the valid points with a stern look and plenty of foundation credibility. Plus, an older reporter like that is not going to let a weak answer or non-answer slide. He'd go right back to it, only more forcefully.
