Palin has a voice that could peel paint.
Seriously. What's up with that? She sounds like a cross between the Sheriff in Fargo and the teacher from Peanuts. Wah wah wah, wah wah...

Her speech the other night literally hurt my ears. I'm still stunned at how all the talking heads praised her. Were they wearing earmuffs? I hope SNL gets someone good to impersonate her. I think Dana Carvey in Church Lady garb would be the best choice but whoever does it needs to master that nasally whine. Ick.

1. Agreed
I thought I was the only one with a problem with her voice, now I don't feel alone.

4. Bizarro world.
Her voice irritates me so much I've felt I was living in Bizarro world this past week. I thought that speech sucked. Between the snarky, sarcastic content and her fingernails-on-chalkboard voice, it was hard to listen to her for very long. When the MSM said how great her speech was I was like "What the fuck?"

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I was starting to think there was something wrong with my ears.

3. Yup, she does..
Listen to her in this interview telling her church to pray for some pipeline or for Walmart or something or other..

First you'll hear the person doing the interview talk (Dori Smith of Talk Nation) as she interviews Anchorage radio personality Shannyn Moore.

Shannyn Moore - Anchorage, Alaska KUDO1080 AM

After Dori and Shannyn say a few words, they play a very annoying clip of Sarah Palin screaching to people who attend her Wasilla church.

5. I heard that clip right before I posted the OP.
They were playing it on MSNBC. It's particularly annoying.

I wonder if they will try to get her a speech coach in between her flashcard lessons on foreign policy and the economy?

Palin sounds like Lorraine! We must keep her away from all Las Vegas buffets!

7. couldn't agree more
although bringing a wonderful actress and a great movie character into this is uncalled for.

Frances McDormand has a great voice with many registers, her character speaks with emotion and determination. I'm at a loss where some people get off comparing her to that soulless nagging of the Alaskan governor.

See here:

Except for the snow - where's the similarity?

From "Ferris Bueller's Day Off".

I'm still laughing over that. :-)

vetted her but her speaking VOICE... ouch!

When I first heard her I figured.... okay, I have hyper-sensitive hearing and find even McCain's is a bit annoying, but when I said something about it to my DH, who is deaf in one ear and increasingly hard of hearing in the other, even he said she's awful.

It's so nice to know that others hear her the same way. B-)

14. Agreed. That was the first thing I noticed about Scarah Failin
I can't take listening to her for more than a minute or so...not that I would anyway.

The mute button is my friend when Scarah's on the toob. It's not like I miss anything...she just repeats the same lies over and over and over.

16. She doesn't need to have...
...someone impersonate her to be funny, she's doing a good job of that all by herself! I didn't watch her speech, but heard bits and pieces. Her voice, her expressions and mannerisms, her material, reminds me of a stand-up comedian. She can spoof herself!!

She's got a great future ahead of her:
1/ Subject of a Lifetime Movie
2/ The Palin Family Reality Show
3/ Stand up comedian
4/ Former Vice Presidential candidate...that alone will keep her busy on Maury, Springer, etc.

The talking heads praised her because they were given orders to do so. They have to be fair you know, and give the republicans and their convention an equal amount of praise as the dems.

What will get Palin in the end is that she was a big fish in a small pond and now she is a small fish in a big fish...but she is being sold as a big fish in a big pond. That never works. Ask your small town prom queen, football hero, valedictorian who went to a big college.

18. If Sylar (from Heroes) had a voice like Sarah's, that's all he would have needed.
When I hear her speak, I kind of feel like the top of my head is being sawed off. Or as I stated in another post, her voice makes me feel like someone is slapping my eardrums.

24. God she's horrible.
When I saw that there was a video of her saying crazy stuff in her church I was excited to watch all of the juicy details but I literally couldn't get past "golly gosh, it was so cool to be baptized here."

Just as no thinking person could ever vote Republican, this year no hearing person could possibly vote McCain/Palin. No offense to the hard of hearing.
