What is making me really angry |
|
is them pretending that they are the ones for change. I am just fuming about it. How do we combat this? Ideas?

1. I agree. Somehow the "McCain is 3rd term Bush" isn't working. I don't know why. nt |

2. yeah and I just don't get it |

we all know this is an election about change--how can the incumbent claim to be the guy who will bring change? how are people buying it?
I do have to admit it is ballsy of them to try this--but I am completely shocked that it is actually working with lots of peeps.
this is crazy

I was in political polling for 8 years.

3. The Republican party is better at lying and marketing... |
|
They've packages themselves as Mavericks, and some of America is just stupid enough to believe it.
Clearly, "Bush's third term" isn't working, because McCain has convinced many that he's unlike Bush.
I think Obama needs to start saying that McCain is WORSE than Bush--because clearly he is. He's more of an extremist and he's admitted that the economy isn't his strong suit. Why isn't that quote being used against McCain??? He admitted that he didn't know much about the economy.
The time to fight back is now. We can't be seen as the losers, who are sliding down a hill--for too long. That will give McPalin more time to gain traction.

4. My suggestion: focus on Obama |
|
Keep your focus locked on him.
Teaching our kids to ride bicycles we had to teach them that there's a tendency to steer more toward the thing you are trying to avoid if you focus on it. So instead, focus on where you want to go, not on what you want to avoid.
The same is true in politics. McCain and Palin can drain you of your vital energy, energy you need to work toward a better outcome.

I am not doing everything I can to help, as I have been working my tail off. This is just something that has been making me angry--and I was hoping maybe someone has thought of ways to attack it.

8. RE: LOOKING FOR A REASON |
|
I agree ...I am pissed... This was the GOP's plan.... #1 find someone for VP to distract from what they saw as Obama Mania #2 find someone to energize the religious base and excite them #3 Some one tough...A Woman so that they can cry sexism when any one tries to confront her with the real issues......(not that sexism does not exist...just so they can play off our recent wounded place that developed during our own primary) That pisses me off...here we go a woman being used to promote an anti-woman agenda, in the disguise of a feminist? As a Woman I am insulted. #4 Now they say they are the change agents? Whoa...talk about morphing! #5 Ideas to defeat the moose lovin, pistol packing, speakin in tongues, religious nut case of a VP candidate? UNCOVER EVERY SINGLE LIE...THE GOP IS USING HER TO THEIR BENEFIT...THE TOKEN WOMAN ...WHO IN THIS CASE IS GOING ALONG WILLINGLY ...AND THINKS SHE IS PART OF GODS WILL FOR THIS COUNTRY? OVER MY DEAD BODY....

12. I liked the Obama ad I saw on television. I thought it was very good. |
|
But his numbers have fairly flat-lined since March.
He needs to do something bold to break that barrier. I thought going to Iraq might do it.
I think - playing to stupid peoples' selfish interests - I'd play up Palin's state's stake in high oil prices. Don't put another oil person in the White House. Something like that.

Palin = Big Oil.
I like it--it is simple, negative, obviously true--and would resonate with people.

17. Keep trying to get the media to do its job and to raise questions. |
|
Phone CNN, MSNBC, network channels, local newspapers, etc. E-mail them too.
Phone call-in shows.
Write letters to your local newspaper.
DO IT.
