Brokaw Unwittigly Admits He's a Democrat

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Discussing the electoral map on MSNBC this morning, Brokaw talked about how organized the Obama campaign is--unlike Democrats in the past. He states words to the effect--"We're in play like we've never been." I believe he tries to be balanced so that people can't tell his leanings, but the cat's out of the bag: Brokaw is for Obama.

21. Yes... SD....
He's from Webster, and went to high school in Yankton. He also used to half-own a radio station in Rapid City (KTOQ - Tom Tom Broadcasting) several years ago. He and his partner have since sold it.

20. Baloney - and it's Dean's 50 state strategy begun in early2005 that is making it easier for 2008
election and Obama was able to tap his organization INTO a Dem party infrastructure that was actually functioning in states that prior chairs had left to collapse a decade earlier.

Funny, how no media wants to point out the FAILURES of the Clinton-era party chairs who collapsed our party in too many states before 2000, 2002 and 2004 election cycles.

24. Brian Williams did similar - only with Republicans
in 2004.

However, I remember an article speculating the possibility that Tom Brokaw could have been John Kerry's running mate in 2004 as well.

26. That's a bit of a leap
How about "we" as in we who follow and report on elections and "in play like we've never been" as a break in the predictability of things, and states maybe voting differently than in the past.

GENBC just made a huge concession to the republicults revealing a blatant bias, so Corporate Brokaw plays a little game to show fake "balance".

Stop believing the ridiculously overpaid Corporate Media Liars.

38. I agree. Brokaw went after Bill Clinton like no other anchor on the news.
Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 02:56 PM by Major Hogwash
He mentioned Clinton being impeached something like 287 times after the impeachment trial was over, from February 1999 until Clinton was out of the White House.
He mentioned it almost every single time when he had to give a report on Clinton after the trial was over.
Brokaw mentioned it during the campaign in 2004.
And he mentioned it during the campaign again this year.

There is no way in hell that I think Brokaw is nothing but a Republican.

30. He's Been A Democrat All The Time
He got in trouble back in the eighties for suggesting that news people can be advocates...

That's the problem...

Because most of them are liberal and Democrat they will have to lean over backwards to be fair...It might be better if they weren't...

From Howard Kurtz today, about the "shift" of Olbermann and Tweety from the anchor chairs:

"NBC staffers say the network's old guard, led by veteran anchor Tom Brokaw, has been complaining since February about the way Olbermann and Matthews favor Barack Obama. Tensions boiled over during the conventions, they say, when NBC reporters grabbed newsmakers on the floor but were often ignored as the anchor duo kept talking."

So in other words, Tom was annoyed that he wasn't getting the attention that he wanted and that the tone of the conversation was not fair from his biased viewpoint.
