It's the economy stupid... |

THE ECONOMY STUPID!!!!!
It was true then and my god, is it EVER true today.
Stop with all the idealogical, criminality of the Bush Admin, the McSame, etc. campaigning.
For whatever reason (the American people as a whole are no longer capable of critical thinking, they are too lazy to find out, they believe the news media is still doing the job of reporting the facts to the nation, etc.), the facts are not working. The general electorate doesn't understand.
What they DO understand is
-> Gas prices have reached nearly three times what they were at the end of Clinton's term.
-> Food prices are up drastically.
-> Too many people are losing their homes to foreclosure because of predatory lending practices...And those of us who still hold our homes are afraid that this crisis could cause us to lose our homes.
-> The job situation is critical and getting worse every day. Those of us who still have our jobs have watched our hours drop and our pay checks get smaller even while the price of absolute necessiites keep going higher and higher.
This is the message. The Reagan/Bush economy squeezed us to the brink in the late eighties/early nineties. The economic practices of the Clinton Administration brought us back to prosperity.
The Bush economy has us standing on the razor's edge of total disaster. One misstep on either side of that razor's edge and we fall into the abyss.
It's not enough to say CHANGE. It's not enough to say McCain is Bush squared. We have to show that the Deomcrats can and will bring back prosperity to all of us.
And that McCain will finish the economic hatchet job that Bush has nearly completed.
If that message doesn't get heard, then we will be in for McCain/Palin. The media/pollsters/electronic vote counters will ensure it.

1. Michigan has over 12% unemployment by republicon fuzzy math |
|
and yet all one hears is how those 12% are just to lazy to look for all the jobs Monster.com has to offer on its site besides its only a Michigan problem so all one has to do is pack up their SUV's that welfare gave them and move away from Michigan. Besides its all because of the states democratic govner that Michigans lost so many jobs, her high taxes hurt small businesses like GMC, Ford and Amway. :sarcasm:

2. Jobs being eliminated here every day and no one is hiring. |
|
School budget for the district was cut by $15 million this year with more cuts promised for next year. One hundred fifty teachers laid off because there was no money to pay them. Support staff so low that a school of 1300 students has only two lunch periods.
The tourism industry supports this area. When the economy goes bad, the first thing people cut back on is vacationing. When that happens, we have a domino effect. First the radio advertising, tourist businesses and restaurants, then luxury goods stores, then clothing/shoes stores, and finally, grocery stores feel the pinch. All cut employee hours, then employee jobs. And we are to the point that the grocery stores are cutting hours and not replacing employees who leave...
