America will eventually see Sarah for what she is --- and will not elect a religious extremist!
Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 11:29 AM by RiverStone
On June 8, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin dropped in on the Wasilla Assembly of God, the church she and her family attended until 2002. During the service, she addressed a group of young missionaries and said she had a "word" from the Lord for them. She prayed that Jesus would give them a spirit of wisdom and revelation.

"That spirit of revelation also including the spirit of prophecy that God's going to tell you what is going on, and what is going to go on, and you guys are going to have that within you, and it's just going to bubble up and bubble over and it's going to pour out throughout the state of Alaska," Palin said at the time.

<snip>

Pentecostals believe God routinely intervenes in human affairs and Palin sounded like a Pentecostal when she asked people at Wasilla Assembly of God to pray about building a gas pipeline through Alaska.

"I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.

America will not tolerate or elect anybody who believes we should be a theocracy. Once John Q. Public peels back the onion a layer or two, they will see in Sarah a religious extremist intent on imposing her brand of religion down your throat, into your home, though out the schools, upon the Arts, the media, the SCOTUS, the Executive Branch, and in your bedroom.

Sarah Palin will be revealed for what she is and John McCain will be revealed for erroneously thinking most of America would not notice.

ON EDIT: Adding what makes her extreme is not as much her personal religious view, but that she feels that in her role as VP or as President, she would be on a mission from God to impose God's will on everybody else. Simply being elected would be her *sign* that she was chosen to carry the word. Now that is some scary and crazy shit!

6. Already her church-talk is going viral on YouTube
America will see it's not nice to ignore the press --- because the press will then take it upon itself to tell America who she is.

23. We are fully depending on the young voters to show up
They are the connected ones they are the ones who get their info from the net and not the MSM.

If they show we win.

3. And people will also see that she is a very old man's heartbeat away
from the Presidency. I think most of this shit about her wouldn't probably be causing as much of an uproar if it didn't look so damn possible for her to be assuming the Presidency in a couple of years. And THAT'S what will scare most normal people.

4. On what do you base this hope? Wishful thinking will not counter the media lovefest with
the pukes. Despite Obama's lofty rhetoric and principled approach,

Americans do respond to the sound-bite lies and images and "narratives" that the media feed them.

Ignorant voters are easily swayed.

10. Most folks don't like to be told what's right or wrong
Minus the 28% of lock-stepping idiots who would vote for McBush no matter who he picked for VP, the swing voters will eventually see that beyond the cheerleader persona, Sarah represents something that independent minded folk really dislike --- someone who thinks she knows what's best for them!

It may take a few weeks to sink in, but they will get it!

16. Can we dummy this down for the lock-stepping folk?
Best line:

"You can't say you are waging a war on religious extremism if you are trying to put a religious extremist a heartbeat away from the presidency."

Thanks for sharing! :hi:

8. The only problem is that if you add the chunk of religious nuts
in this country to the gun nuts, gay haters, racists, greedy rich people and people too stupid to know what's good for them, it's about half the electorate.

12. Ding Ding Ding...we have ourselves a winnah....enough 'single issue' voters added together
makes a majority. Also, sure America will figure it out. I just don't want it to be in 2010 after two years of a McCain/Palin presidency.

11. I just found out last night that my conservative Mom, who hates fundies, loves Palin.
She doesn't believe any of the rumors about her being a religious whack-job because Faux says so and everything on the Internet is "made up".

Maybe it's just my Mom, but she's a very typical middle-America conservative and she's 100% fooled by the Palin myth.

Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 11:27 AM by bowens43
as long as it's a Christian extremist. The things we see in Palin's church that so disgust us are exactly the things that the republican base and those who lean to the right love. Make no mistake America will vote for religious extremists and they will do it with great gusto.
