Nice gesture by Hillary. Visits Obama's Lakeland headquarters in Florida.
This is in the heart of what is called the I-4 Corridor, a very hard area for Democrats. To have 60 people doing anything for Democrats in the middle of the day is a marvelous thing.

I must say this was a nice thing for her to do.

Here is the video of her visit.

Hillary visits Obama HQ in Central Florida.

Here is the write-up by Bill Rufty, the Ledger political editor.

Hillary stumps for Obama

U.S. SEN. HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON gets a leg hug from 5-year-old Sydney Tritschler during an impromptu visit to the Polk County Obama headquarters while traveling to Tampa on Monday.

LAKELAND | Sixty volunteers were hard at work on phones and laptops at the Polk County Obama for President Headquarters on Monday when they got a surprise visit from his former opponent - U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

"This is marvelous to see so many people hard at work,'' said Clinton, who decided to pay the spur-of-the-moment visit while en route from an appearance in Kissimmee to a rally in Tampa as she stumps for U.S. Sen. Barack Obama.

Clinton walked into the office at County Line Road and Gateway Boulevard as adults and high school student volunteers were calling local voters to give them information about Obama, and to ask whether they had decided who to vote for.

"Hold on, she's really here," Laura Pinner of Lakeland said to her friend who was on the phone from San Francisco.

Taking the cell phone, Clinton said "Hello, yes it is me."

"We are Jesus-loving Democrats,'' Pinner said of herself and her friend.

U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton shakes hands with Mohamed Chaoud, right, as Clinton greeted campaign workers at the Obama for President headquarters in Lakeland on Monday.

16. Me too
Just wanted to show the extent of my appreciation. What impresses me is not the extent to which she is supporting Barack, but the strength she is showing in doing so. Believe me, losing out must have killed her, but, there she is, doing her thing again. It's admirable, and that's coming from someone who has torn into her as bad as anyone on this board.

She's totally redeeming herself as far I as can see and that's a relatively fast healing process from the history with my Senator from New York.

Can't wait to see how Obama and Bill's lunch date goes in NYC after the 9/11 ceremony that Obama is going to with mccain and all the people who will be in attendance.

she is very attractive and energetic. let's see what palin looks like at that age.

do they think they're saving her lashing out at palin's crack about the 18 million cracks? and other things they could point out about her being an extremist? I'd sure like them to talk about McCain's S&L and POW search stopping associations.

I know they're formulating the best attack pieces, because there's so much to attack, but I'm really wanting to run my own commercials and wish I had the money.

21. Here's another reason why Hillary as an Obama surrogate is a HUGE advantage
She's a newsmaker, a national figure. The MSM watches her every move.

So, every time she delivers a stump speech for Obama, CNN and MSNBC cut in and air it live, as they did yesterday. And once Big Dog hits the trail, he'll get the same kind of blanket coverage.

Name ONE McCain surrogate who would get a coverage break-in while shilling for the ticket. I'm waiting.... ;-)

Good gawd that pic of Hillary with the little girl is gorgeous and inspiring!

24. Why doesn't Hillary take on Palin?
Clinton herself took to the campaign trail in Florida yesterday on Obama's behalf and urged voters to support the Democratic ticket. But, prompted by one spectator, she declined to take after Palin.

"You know what? I don't think that's what this election is about," Clinton said at a rally in Kissimmee. "This election is about the differences between us and the Republican Party,"

http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20080909/pl_politico/20934

what is she waiting for?

26. Upton..Because thats Joe Biden's job now?
I think if Hillary was the VP nominee it would be expected for her to do that, but now it's Joe Biden's responsiblity. And unless she is specifically asked to do so, it might look like she is trying to take over. I think what she is doing now, supporting & campaigning for Obama, is her appropriate role. And I'm curious as to why some people think it should only be Hillary. What about all the other women who backed Obama in the primaries? Like Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri, or Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, etc. And how about our governors like Jean Napolitano of Arizona & Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas? Both from Red States. Palin is a governor, and so are these women, they could really go after her. Or Nancy Pelosi, high profile, Speaker of the House. Lots of women in leadership positions in the party, besides Hillary. I'm sure they would be willing if thats what Obama & Biden want.

49. I agree 100%
Only one problem, not one of those women would get a minute of national news coverage (except as talking heads on cable news networks) in this all Palin, all the time bullshit coverage.

Having said that, I still agree, Hillary is not the one to go after Palin. I think Obama did the right thing today with his "enough is enough" lets talk about the issues speech.

29. The attention has already been taken away from McCain
the MSM is focusing on Palin and giving her glowing reviews. The size of McCain's bounce is due to Palin. We need the women of the party to go after her, expose her lies and hypocrisy, otherwise we're not going to win.
