Hillary slams McCain/Palin:

That's all just in the past two days. NO attack is going unanswered. Obama's ads the past few days have been OUTSTANDING attacks against McCain and Palin.

Too many people here have it set in their mind that the Obama campaign is repeating the mistakes of the Kerry campaign. They are not. Not by a fucking longshot.

The Obama campaign has been doing what the Kerry campaign SHOULD have done. They are brutally, and forcefully, going on the attack.

The evidence is right there in front of your face. You're just refusing to see it, or you have a meme you want to attach to the Obama campaign and you're not going to let it go no matter the evidence.

If Obama loses this election, it will not be because he and his campaign didn't fight back. They have been extremely quick and deadly in their responses.

7. I agree. The message needs to be distilled into a top ten list
and repeated by all Dems. The average voter is going to pay attention to the thousand reasons why McCain-Palin are a disaster.

2. Exactly the problem. He's fighting *back*
When will we see the McWorse campaign having to *fight back*???? This is the Kerry/Gore/Dukakis/Mondale/Carter recipe for election disaster.

when they released the "houses" ad before the conventions...

They are doing it. They'll be doing more.

6. I hope you're right. But that's still not enough.
The truth is that McCain made a cynical unpatriotic decision in selecting this stupid, hateful, lying, apocalyptic Talibornagain to be one 72-year-old cancer patient's heartbeat away from the Big Red Button.

As long as Obama seems afraid to say that, he will not get respect from the majority of American voters. Including the ones who actually vote for him.

26. Election's on Nov 4, not Sep 9. Carter was ahead of Reagan by a point on Sep 9.

We're not "losing" anything.

It's a marathon.

Another note:

On Sep 9 of 2004, Kerry was behind by 6.

(And, BTW, examples using Kerry do not serve to instill confidence)

29. Look up the definition of "losing"
You'll find it's different from the definition of "lost" -- eg, The Packers were "losing" until they rallied in the third quarter.

Obama better have a helluva rally planned.

33. How is it meritless? When's the last time a Democrat came from behind to win?
I think perhaps Clinton in the three-way race in 92, but that's it. We won't have a three-way race this time.

16. As opposed to running against Bush1 who NEEDED to lose or face impeachment
Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 12:27 PM by blm
after the release of the Dec 1992 BCCI report? There was NO FIERCE ATTACK launched against Bush1 in 1992 and no fierce attack launched against Dole in 1996. Bush1 went down because he expected certain impeachment over BCCI matters about to go public by Dec 1992. So...who REALLY attacked Bush1 by uncovering IranContra and BCCI matters to the extent Bush expected impeachment? Not Clinton.

24. Oh but I do blame the media, even if millions of people got out in the streets and protested
the traitors in our very own government the media would just ensure we were subjected to a scenerio that it was nothing more than a mob and we might see a few of them arrested when in actuality there would be many more than anyone was aware of..

The media is calling the shots at this point, the past two weeks are a big confirmation of just that very fact.

5. Nothing is good enough for some people...
I think that there are people that wouldn't be pleased unless Obama literally sucker punched McCain in the face, ripped off his arms and then proceeded to plow Sarah Palin with McCain's own severed arms.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If Obama wasn't a master of political jiu jijtsu, he wouldn't be the nominee right now. He came from behind every runner in the primaries, faced all the odds regarding his race and rumors about his religion. And after all that, he BEAT Hillary Clinton and one of the strongest political machines in recent American politics. Hillary is NO joke.

He knows what he is doing. If there is any possibility in modern times of a black man with a middle eastern-esque name becoming president of the United States, he will make it happen.

8. Do you even GET how ironic your post is? Kerry DID FIGHT BACK. Media muted and downplayed
Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 12:29 PM by blm
and edited much of those attacks so people LIKE YOU and most Americans would never hear the counterattacks on the swifts AND the attacks on Bush.

Focking ironic of you. Go take a dip into the DU Research Forum and educate yourself. You warn people that Obama's attacks aren't being heard to any degree or furthered by the Dems, and then turn right around and let the media and Dems off the hook for 2004 as you blame Kerry.

You also PROVE how disengaged you were in 2004. You must have been waiting for the corpmedia to tell you what was happening, because those of us who heard and saw Kerry's counterattacks FURTHERED them as much as we could with no media backing us up, and too few left blogs even paying attention.

12. No wall of noise. Media isn't discussing Obama's attacks in any substantive way.
Democrats not furthering Obama's attacks to MAKE that wall of noise necessary. Focking ironic that you would continue to do the 2004 corpmedia's job for them and blame Kerry.

19. Republican controlled mass media don't cover it well.
They say "Obama held a townhall in Smithtown today." period. full stop.

It helps their campaign to discourage and depress Democatic morale if they don't cover Obama and Biden talking back. They want Dems to stay home and not vote.

When Modern Republican John Sidney McCain III, your humble servant with $520 loafers and 7 homes, holds a town hall the fact is covered along with a clip or two like "Obama's gonna raise your taxes."

Picking the kid up from school?

In line at Starbucks?

Let's get out there and make McCain voters uncomfortable.
