"I just don't know WHY everyone isn't in love with john mccain"-- this was the statement
of a woman at a gallery opening I attended the other night (thank goodness I was on my way to get a glass of wine). She wasn't talking to me, but I stopped, and said, "for openers, he is an adulterer, a liar, and a panderer. want more?" she stormed off.

just prior to that, I had encountered another group, who were discussing the lawless protestors and the horrible left-wing blogs besmirching caribou barbie. I walked up and said, "so, you have no problem with a candidate who is under investigation for ethics violations? " "it's all a lie, the left-wing is out to get her", "uh, no, the investigation was started by her own party, and it's called abuse of power. oh, and by the way, I am so glad to know that you approve of storm troopers on our own streets" the older man practically screamed at me, "you are uninformed" I replied, NO, YOU are uninformed, and that is sad"

after that, I poured a very LARGE glass of wine.

1. go get 'em!!
seriously - stupid is as stupid does. Forrest was right. These people will never "get it". They are comfortable and secure so screw the rest. They couldn't possibly understand the reason that the protesters are so upset because they have nothing to complain about - yet.

9. I adore the gallery, it is one of my favourites, the people I mentioned were guests, not
the gallery artists, who, by the way, agreed with me that repukes are incredibly stupid.

3. oh boy you guys are doing great, I have read so many
posts today, that you guys are not holding back, yes, this is the only way to do it. And just making an observance, when you hit these people with facts, they just walk away, they cannot handle the truth.

You guys are doing great.

5. You better stay away from these people before you do your liver in...
I know if I paid attention to a fraction of the low-information ignorance, I'd find myself passed out in a ditch laying on a puddle of my alcohol induced vomit.

11. my limit is about two glasses of wine. I generally don't encounter the stupid, even though I live
in one of the reddest counties in the country, and I don't really have to deal with the repukes except when I am dealing with city council, and the county comisssion.

6. Squishy "facts" suffice as justification for voting against Obama.
I applaud your efforts, but it's clear the ideological divide still resonates with many wingnutters.

14. Well, that's the kind of people you usually find
at gallery openings: people with too much money and too little intelligence. One of the many reasons I am no longer in arts management, which consists largely of begging bastards for crumbs.
