Mondale got a huge bounce after he picked Ferrarro
Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 03:19 PM by Sugarcoated
But they just reported on MSNBC those numbers didn't hold. I think a couple of points in the bounce signify the cursory convention bounce every candidate gets, and then points for Palin. He may gain a few points from where he was, but I have a feeling the media is making this out to be more than it actually is, of course, with a lot of PR help from Repub surrogates.

Edit: Typo

1. That's Ferrari.
It was more of a vroom than a bounce.

actually tied Reagan briefly
Before spiraling out of control.

And it was Geraldine's finances that were the biggest chain around her neck. Maybe Palin's will be hers.

9. Danger of an unknown
You get a bounce for the freshness factor, but then you don't know what is going to come out of it. With Ferraro, it wasn't even her finances, it was her husband's. You never know what will be the one big thing the media won't let go of.

3. Palin Has Controlled So Many News Cycles
that the bounce is not surprising. Any scandals or criticisms that do not take her down simply add to the effect. I hope the campaign goes back to focusing on the two presidential nominees.
