Just announced at a rally in St. Louis.... "I'm announcing today that I've called a meeting of the world's major leaders to meet with me on October 1st" (that's three days before the VP debate mind you) "so we can JOINTLY plan the demise of the rise of fundamentalism."

1) under the Logan Act, Biden can't negotiate with foreign governments
2) Could we even get rid of fundamentalism in the US. No, doing so is against the Constitution. You can be a fundamentalist Christian, a Hasid, or an Islamic fundamentalist or any other type - it's your freedom of religion.

The statement was part of (and I'm paraphrasing here):

"Can you imagine if on september 12th after the attacks we had had a real president like JFK, FDR or even Ronald Reagan, they might have said 'I'm immediately putting forth a new energy plan so that we can stop funding the people who did this and it is the duty of every American to support it, and also on Oct. 1st I'm calling for a meeting....'"

It was a hypothetical statement by a hypothetical president that was hypothetically in charge on September 11, 2001. Hypothetically, we'd be a lot better off.

I drove in a motorcade that took Biden, his staff and the traveling press to a couple of events in Des Moines, IA yesterday. It was tons of fun.

I drove a van with several of his top staffers. I've learned that if you keep your mouth shut, and ears open, you learn a lot!

I've met many people I used to only read about doing these gigs.
