You know Cable News would be much more effective if they had
independent organizations going over the records and positions of the candidates than having two hacks argue about essentially nothing more than my guys better than yours, nayh, nayh, nayh...

See if you start from that point and then work toward the campaigns, they would have to defend, say 7 lobbiest on the payroll.

I feel confident that, for instance, Obama's record and actions would stand up under scruteny much better than McCain's just as Biden's record would stand for a lot more than just the bluster and hyperbole of one Sarah Palin.

1. I think the internet blogs fill that role, to some degree
Look at how TPM and DailyKos have helped to get the truth out there, esp. lately regarding Palin's on-going LIES about her record.

You know, maybe try to appeal to someone with an IQ about 75...

2. Cable news is very effective.
Your point is true, but the news networks aren't interested in the news, they're interested in slanting it to their benefit. None of them are actual news networks, they're propaganda networks. If you realize they're propaganda networks, then you see that they are very effective at their prime purpose.

4. Of course!
But the cable networks aren't interested in the truth...

They just want high ratings and lots of viewers...

This is what keeps them in business...

5. Cable news would have more real news if they fired 100 pundits and hired 2 12-yr-olds with computers
