Who have been 'observing' DU for '...at least 4 or 5 years...' BUT have never chosen to post until NOW...

goddam, you almost had us all fooled...

let me see if i have this right:

you were going to vote for Hillary, you think any aggressive action Barack or Joe take is either sexist or misguided, you are 'afraid' the repukes are going to get over p.r.-wise because Obama won't get dirty, you see every possible weakness in the campaign at every juncture (which causes you 'great concern'), you have supported Obama since he got the nomination but now he is letting you down, the dems should not hit back with any truths or facts because they will be perceived as 'dirty tricks' by all those millions who COULD vote for a black man but will now find a reason not to...

blah, f***ing blah....

TRUE concern is both well-founded and legitimate...and you roviantrolls have no experience with such truth...

and we see you every time...

3. DUers need to be alert and use the ALERT key to help the mods
this is a big site and the mods count on us to be their eyes

Good DU citizens use the 'alert' key.

5. There are people with post counts 1000 who have threads that benefit only McCain.
Anything that 1. paints McCain/Palin as more moderate/mainstream/middle of the road and which suggests that any right wing social position which they took at the convention is all political posturing is by definition McCain pr designed to be seen, read and believed by Democrats . No exceptions. Recall that Obama said in his convention speech that we must not accuse McCain of political posturing. If he (and Palin) embraced a far right wing position in the primary or at the convention, it was because they believed it and intend to continuing embracing it as president. Obama is smart. He said that for a reason.

2. Anything that seems designed to drive a wedge between McCain and Palin and the right wing Christian Coalition (Palin has Catholic roots, McCain is not really a Baptist) that comes from a progressive site is really intended to reassure cross over Dems and Independents that these candidates will not pander to the religious right. However, since the religious right is going to be their base, they will pander to them, esp. Palin, who believes in them.

3. Anyone who claims that Obama is running a "weak", "inept", "loser" campaign forgets that this man is a relative newcomer who is now a major party candidate running neck and neck with a veteran who is a favorite of the press and business community. And he has the disadvantage of minority race in a country in which Blacks make less money and are subject to disparate treatment. I would like to see people here do a better job.

4. Any post which is designed to foster a sense of apathy, cynicism or despair is doing McCain's work, because low voter turn out will always favor the Republican. Threads about stolen elections which tell you how you can make a difference are good. Threads which tell you "Why bother? They are only going to steal it." are not so good. Threads which tell you "They are trying to steal it, so go out and get mad and then register so many people to vote that there will be no way that the bastards can steal it" are the best. Anger, hope, energy are always welcome.

8. The ones I love are the "Obama has to earn my vote" or "I need Obama to woo me" posts.
Right about the time you point out that if you need to be "wooed" to vote for Obama over John McCain, you might need to rethink your progressive credentials, the great pouty whine comes roaring through: "you're bullying me! You're a Clinton hater!" :eyes:

9. Not to mention the always gilded opener:
"I am a Democrat."

The infamous: "I'm not a racist, but..." was retired in about July, IIRC.
