You are on notice. Next time LOOK TO THE GOP/MSM to blame first.

These poll numbers ARE TOTAL BULLSHIT. They've been fudging the numbers and had you all in a tizzy!

1. Please post this at least once a day around 5 p.m. (when poll numbers usually leak out)
Consider it a public-service message to all Chicken Littles. :hi:

2. I am not blaming Obama.
Nor am I blaming Kerry and Gore for what happened like some people who buy into revisionist GOP spin and let the Dem surrogates M.I.A. and the MSM off the hook.

Just sayin.

Good post though.

3. The polls probably are pure bullshit. But people are swayed by perception.
We still need to hit back hard and give no quarter to a one of them. Wringing hands is a fruitless activity.

As for Axelrod, he is very, very smart. But he isn't the most dynamic speaker. We need someone young and wiseass out there on the pundit circuit with the one liners to bat back at Team McBush. Axelrod may be a thinker and he may be great at what he does, but he should have someone else deliver the punches. He doesn't come off as a fighter.

4. Remember, the main consumer of polls is TV networks
Edited on Tue Sep-09-08 06:59 PM by Capn Sunshine
and they really really need a horserace. If actual number came out, no one would watch. Remember the Obama campaign is about 60% through the 50-state plan to articlulate a landslide. This is the actual strategy: a LANDSLIDE.

Note this 2008 Pew Research study:

Difference between registered Dems vs r's , then independents:

Now on top of that remember , polling organizations ONLY CALL LAND LINES.
They also only call you if you were registered in 2006 or earlier.

We've registered over 3 million voters since then.

Now go call a swing state!

5. JesusMaryandJoseph!
I've been telling people this for freakin' weeks! The polls are complete BS. There is NO WAY that they could be correct, because if they were, that would mean that a decent percentage of Registered Democrats would be favourable for McCain, and that just ain't so!
"They," (provide your favorite evil referent) are playing us, the one thing that makes jealous people totally miserable is seeing other people happy.
And guess what…Democrats are not just happy about our candidate, we are tearfully joyous. If you watched the DNC and watched the RNC you saw two completely different groups of people.
The DNC was a PARTY! We had Stevie Wonder and Fireworks! We had 80,000 people crying in a Stadium! When the cameras panned over the crowd, you saw every shade of skin colour out there, every age, shape and clothing preference that you could think of. The DNC represented, and it was AWESOME.
The RNC had a bunch of really, really white people. I know there were other colours in the audience, but really, seriously, not many. And then they tried to beat everyone into submission with their balloon drop.
Do you remember the DNC speeches? And not just our superstars, did you see Kucinich? Beau Biden brought me to tears.
For Pete's sake, Carter is a NOBEL winner! What's on the other side? Fred Thompson?? Rudy?? A guy who's co-star was a monkey?
Say it, out loud, at your computer… Fired Up, and Ready To Go. Repeat. Fired Up and Ready To Go. Repeat.

10. I really wonder...
If this will be the last election where we deal with polling as it is? I am thinking that the results will be totally skewed due to younger cell-phone only voters, caller ID, and unlikely voters.

Of course, my dad has been skewing data for years. He's never voted GOP in his life, but he always tells pollsters that he is. He thinks it'll make his guy work harder (no, you can not change his mind).
