New McCain Ad Falsely Suggests Obama Wants Kids To Learn "About Sex Before Learning To Read"
Source: Talking Points Memo

The McCain campaign is up with a new ad attacking Obama on education that makes some rather strong insinuations about sex.

... The ad shows a dreamy-looking Obama as it says: Obama's one accomplishment? Legislation to teach "comprehensive sex education" to kindergartners. Learning about sex before learning to read?

... According to the McCain campaign's own email, the sex ed claim is based on Obama's support for a bill, in the Illinois state legislature, that said: "Each class or course in comprehensive sex education offered in any of grades K through 12 shall include instruction on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, including the prevention, transmission and spread of HIV."

As you can see, the McCain ad says that Obama was the one who pushed the "comprehensive sex education" measure. The Obama campaign has pointed out that the bill would simply add instruction on disease prevention to already existing classes. Though Obama's support for the bill constitutes support for the sex ed curriculum, this is a blatant distortion.

... Obama spokesperson Bill Burton's response directly questions McCain's honor: "It is shameful and downright perverse for the McCain campaign to use a bill that was written to protect young children from sexual predators as a recycled and discredited political attack against a father of two young girls - a position that his friend Mitt Romney also holds. Last week, John McCain told Time magazine he couldn't define what honor was. Now we know why."

6. John McCain is revolting.
The screen shot that Josh Marshall has up demonstrates that McCain has no honor and
no decency. "LEARNING about SEX" with a picture of Obama smiling plays into the old
racist canard of black men being oversexed. It is disgraceful.

Sheesh. I saw this on Maddow, and it made me livid. I truly loved the quote about how McCain said he wasn't sure what honor was and now we know why. That has GOT to be in an ad by Obama. McSicko has no integrity anymore, he has swallowed the Kool-Aid, and he has his lobbyists to keep feeding it to him if he forgets his talking points.

10. Race baiting--this election is OVER
Sorry DU, but as George Carlin said, "This country is over"

Couple this ad, with the latest decision by McCain to advertise durign daytime TV to attract older and female/family voters: http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/09/mccain_campaign_quietly_starts.php

The strategy is clear, as with the paris hilton ad, pure subliminal race baiting.

And the polls are saying it is working.

Unless the Obama campaign does something radical to shake up this race, this election is OVER.

Sorry

36. Yep...
...prepare for 8 years of McCrap and, after he keels over, the bouffant puppet.

Why?

1. The idiocy of enough 'Murkans plus their inability to perceive reality, discern facts, and think critically

2. The spinelessness of the Dems, which is the endpoint of the last 8 years of accomodating 'pukes: Dem leadership seems incapable of effectively fighting back.

Followed with the given response from his campaign.

Then the statement by McCain, that he approves of this message.

Then the voice over should ask "DO YOU REALLY WANT THIS PERSON AS YOUR PRESIDENT?

This ad even turned off the guy who spinning like crazy for McCain.

17. They really do need to ask in a very public way...
Are these people willing to say ANYTHING to get elected, or are they just unable comprehend what they read. And it wouldn't hurt to keep on saying, "the American people are smarter than this". It seems pretty simple, but I am thinking there may actually be people out there who would just see a McPOW ad like this and never think beyond it. Pointing out how it is absolute BS and then saying that people are smarter than that may actually make some of those less critically thinking people stop to think about it and think "yeah, that's not what he meant". Some may even take it to the next step and realize it is essentially a lie, and be offended. It used to drive me nuts when a politician would say that people are smarter than that, partly because I felt many of them aren't, and it felt like they were trying to get votes simply by flattery. I have come to see at as possibly a tool to make at least some people think, and now hope Obama keeps using it against McPOW.

The Dems need to call them out on those lies, because people DO believe them. Let's see how the "war hero" looks when the undecided voters find out that he's such a blatant liar.

27. If I May Quote Irving Berlin from 1946 Musical "Annie Get Your Gun"

ANNIE OAKLEY and FEMALE CHORUS:

Folks are dumb where I come from,
They ain't had any learning.
Still they're happy as can be
Doin' what comes naturally (doin' what comes naturally).

Folks like us could never fuss
With schools and books and learning.
Still we've gone from A to Z,
Doin' what comes naturally (doin' what comes naturally)

You don't have to know how to read or write
When you're out with a feller in the pale moonlight.
You don't have to look in a book to find out
What he thinks of the moon and what is on his mind.
That comes naturally (that comes naturally).

My uncle out in Texas can't even write his name.
He signs his checks with "x's"
But they cash them just the same.
If you saw my pa and ma,
You'd know they had no learning,
Still they've raised a family
Doin' what comes naturally (doin' what comes naturally)

Cousin Jack has never read an almanac on drinking
Still he's always on the spree
Doin' what comes naturally (doin' what comes naturally).

Sister Sal who's musical has never had a lesson,
Still she's learned to sing off-key
Doin' what comes naturally (doin' what comes naturally).

You don't have to go a private school
Not to pick up a penny near a stubborn mule,
You don't have to have a professor's dome
Not to go for the honey when the bee's not home.
That comes naturally (that comes naturally).

My tiny baby brother, who's never read a book,
Knows one sex from the other,
All he had to do was look,
Grandpa Bill is on the hill
With someone he just married.
There he is at ninety-three,
Doin' what comes naturally (doin' what comes naturally

I was wondering when we would start to get the really nasty bigotry. So here it is. The subliminal message of this ad is obvious: this is the kind of policy we should expect from an oversexed black man who wants to have sex with little white girls!
