I'm humiliated.

This was my first night volunteering work for the Obama campaign tonight. I phoned other Obama supporters and put my time to good use. I expect to get flamed for having a hair misplaced, or never volunteering before, or phrasing a comment or a subject line imperfectly. But, it's not that bad. Just type xx.barackobama.com (where xx is your state) into your web browser to find nearby locations where you can volunteer.

Or, at least make sure everyone goes to https://www.voteforchange.com/ to make sure they are registered.

8. This is probably the most important post on DU right now.

It's so easy to slip into the role of keyboard commando and do all your fighting on the internet. (I speak from experience.) But while you can fight a flame war online that lasts for days with no hope of converting your opponent, a couple of hours of doorknocking or calling can get you new votes from new voters who are just waiting at home for someone to give them the info they need, or just a little push.

If everyone who posted a web comment online committed to bringing one new or rare voter to the polls, we'd win in a landslide.
