The Scarriest thing Palin said,
Edited on Thu Sep-11-08 10:31 PM by Perky
That she did not hesitate when John McCain asked her to be his running mate,

She gave birth to a SPecial Needs child in April. She knew her teenage daughter was pregnant. A teenage son deploying to Iraq in a little over two weeks, As a parent, regardless of gender, how do you not pause? How do you not take a day to consider the stresses this would create.

If you come to the same conclusion after a day od soul searching. fine....But how do you not blink? Gulp? Have any sort of gut check?

This is not the type of personality we need in the White House.. God Forbid the Oval Office,

Charlie Gibson got it right. What Hubris!!

2. A wise person would realize the enormous task she was being asked to consider, and
approach the offer with humility and deep soul searching, as you say--even IF that same wise person didn't have immediately difficult family issues. She's just that silly and shallow.

she is extremely calculating. She has relentlessly lobbied for the V.P. spot since February. It's clear that she wasn't going to let ANYTHING get in her way.

5. It always strikes me when politicians discuss how difficult a decision it is to run for office
They usually include their family in the discussion because they know how much of an impact it will have on everyone. I think she was trying to appear strong and missed an opportunity to be reasonable and thoughtful. Instead she came off as selfish and reckless.

I don't blame her for accepting. I blame McCain for asking.

She was frequently mentioned as a possibility and had plenty of time to consider it. Any politician in her shoes would have been crazy to turn the opportunity down.

Just a Cold War allusion, nothing real to her.

20. Agreed. It's a lie, like most everything else McCain or Palin utter that seems implausible.
My presumption is that McCain and Palin's default is to lie if it helps. This is an answer that helps.

Did she hesitate? Who knows or cares, really? I'd suspect she'd had to have at least thought a moment as she was being asked.

Edited on Fri Sep-12-08 04:54 PM by aint_no_life_nowhere
To think things over is too intyleckshul, pinko, and soft.

Palin has systematically tried to build an image as a dynamic, resourceful, hands on, can do person, in killing a moose, in being a pit-bull, in putting planes on ebay, in firing her chef. She's a man of action! (at least in the warped minds of the drolling toothless GOP sycophants).

And besides, she has a calling from God to serve him as Vice President. That requires no thought but has come to her by divine inspiration. Her Vice Presidency is her ministry. Her selection is no coincidence. It is written.

25. Because she is NOT a "wonderful mother"! Sick of hearing people say...
"I am sure she is a wonderful mother, I just don't agree with her policies/don't think she's ready/bla bla bla"

There are horrible parents in this world and she is one of them. The way she uses almost each of her kids for political expedience, her despicable ethics, her ultra-"christian" hypocrisy and heartlessness and that she is bullshitting her kids about the realities of life with her crazy ass views make her a pitiful excuse for a parent.

Anyone notice at the RNC that her son didn't seem too excited about him being mentioned so she could present herself as "mother of one of those troops"??

She didn't blink because she was the chosen one to follow * a decade ago and the 'low-info' voters have been conditioned for years to love her. SHE IS PEGGY HILL!!!!!
