Stogie's back with The Citrus Taliban....good Christian Baxley calls Obama a socialist.
Ybor City Stogie has a series called The Citrus Taliban.

It is hard keeping up with the outrages, as we have so many of them here in Florida.

Today's Taliban is former legislator and Christian Coalition member, Dennis Baxley. He has tried to make sure our students don't learn about evolution.

Citrus Taliban on Barack Obama

Who knew the Christian Coalition was in the business of defining Christianity? Perhaps Mr. Baxley might consider pausing and looking back at the campaign of the man he supported so diligently in 2000 and 2004.

"He wants to tax the rich more and redistribute wealth to other people — where I come from that’s socialism. Karl Marx was not a Christian.”...........Dennis Baxley

More on Baxley's comments about Obama:

Christian Coalition on Obama

Dennis Baxley, a former state legislator from Ocala and the executive director of the Christian Coalition of Florida, one of the most prominent groups on the religious right, said during an interview with the Miami Herald about Obama’s outreach to the Christian community:

“He’s pretty scary to us,” he said. “I think his Muslim roots and training — while they try to minimize it — it’s there.”

Asked what he meant, Baxley pointed to Obama’s childhood stint in Indonesia and his Muslim relatives. (Obama mostly grew up in Hawaii but lived in Indonesia, a predominantly Muslim country, between the ages of six to 10. He was raised by his mother and her parents, all from Kansas. Obama says his Kenyan father, who left when he was two and returned for one visit before his death, was “raised a Muslim” but became a “confirmed atheist.”)

“That concerns me particularly in the period of history we are living in, when there’s an active movement by radical Muslims to occupy us,” Baxley said of Obama’s background. “That whole way of life is all about submission. It concerns me that someone rooted in those beginnings, how it might have affected their outlook. That’s what scary for me.”

Dennis, I swear, you are just plain embarrassing to this state. Shame on you.

Another named by Stogie to The Citrus Taliban is Florida's super Christian Ronda Storms

May I quote the Tampa Trib's Daniel Ruth?

"Trying to pass Creationism in public schools, telling the local librarian either certain books need to be banned or the librarian gets fired, and there's also troopergate - very much like Ronda threatening the county staff to deny a permit to a bikini bar club she didn't like.

"Breaking the county charter meant nothing to Ronda as I'm sure the Constitution means about the same to Palin."

Who knows? If the McCain/Palin ticket gets elected, perhaps there would be a place in the new administration for Ronda Storms - Secretary of Pinched Harrumphing, perhaps?

This is such an embarrassing state in which to live. Just when I think things are getting better, the Citrus Taliban comes out of hiding. Thanks to Stogie for calling them out of their dark corners of hate and divisiveness.

1. Does Florida have an election challenger law. This fat fuck should be challenged.
For being ignorant.

3. Baxley was chair of Florida's Education Council under Jeb.

They got their people into every kind of office here, commissioners..both city and county. School board members.

That's how they have so been in control. Along with the real estate developers.

4. Former chair of Florida's Election Council thinks Obama is a Muslim
Pretty bad.

This has been the caliber of people trying to push Jeb's agenda...Marco Rubio, Speaker of the House, posts in the Florida Baptist Witness and caters to them.

No wonder we are in such sad shape.

5. "Obama a socialist" is just the springboard, heard yesterday on XM...
between Randi commercials, a right-wing tirade on American Right from a dude who's voice I couldn't recognize; that Obama is a mindless, automatronic front; a left-wing Manchurian Candidate of Ayers. That it is Ayers' intent to establish through Obama indoctrination/re-education hubs and centers throughout the country to usher in, in conjunction with The Black Panther Party; a new socialist world void of republican, read here: good old American Freedom & Liberty!

They clearly snipped the tail end of this strange brand of hate-speak and went to a commercial...but ut did get in in sum total, it's out there, and this is the way they think.

7. What a great name for a blog.
I'm going to have a lot of reading to do today. Florida fascinates me.
