Will our ruling elite step in to save us from McSame/Moosellni? |
|
They were fine with Bush, whose base has was always the "haves and have mores". He never attended a whackjob Rapture Ready church or any church at all, and he believes all the shit he peddles to the fundies about as much as the American Humanist Society does.
With McSenile and Ms. Rapture Ready Whackjob we have an entirely different scenario. McBush is dazed and confused, and Mooselini is a pig-ignorant fundie true believer in the last days--the genuine article with no fakery at all. It may just cause the haves and have mores to break with the endless tax cuts and endless wars strategy because people at the top know, if anyone knows, that we have very severe shitstorm weather ahead. They'd prefer not to have Armegeddon, as they are having way too much fun looting and pillaging the rest of us.
If that is the case, enough of the elite might well (at least partly) turn the MSM against Rethugs on the grounds that in reality they'd be better off with a second FDR than a second McKinley.
That would be a major relief, as long as we realize that we still have to fight them after getting Obama elected in order to really change everything.

1. I suspect they will. The desire for basic competence is bi-partisan at this point. |

Republicans may not agree with Obama-Biden on a lot of things, but they can tell Obama is what he is, and no one knows who McCain is anymore, and everyone knows who Palin is, and God help us if she gets into the Oval Office.
