It was my worst nightmare: |
|
When I finished my undergraduate stint , I had two recurring dreams:
The first one was that I'd signed up for a course and decided to drop it but hadn't filed the slip. so when the final exam roster came out and my name was on the list, I hadn't attended one class or read one book. I would awaken in a sweat, gasping for air.
The second one was that I had taken the course, but on the day of the final, the professor picked a name at random, mine, and insisted that I take an oral examination with him personally, and that he asked me questions on a post-doctoral level. That dream often caused me toa awaken screaming and crying in frustration.
The look on that sociopath's face last night was one of utter calm and determination except for the moment that "Charlie" -wink-wink- asked her about the "Bush doctrine" - you could see her body tensed and he mouth dried up and she tried the oh-so-evident bullshit reply "In what sense, Charlie". who among us has not been in that position, and while I cringed in my clothes, I simultaneously leapt to my feet with joy.
She's a sociopathic individual and thus she has no normal anxiety...it wass only when confronted in extremis that she became unnerved. Uncle Charlie (Remember Hitchcock?) helped her out though, like a good Rethug, but even he was clearly perturbed by her lack of depth.
