Bookmark this post - this is how Sarah Palin is gonna possible best Biden in a debate.... |
|
she's gonna bring out the tears.
I swear to god, that's about all she has left in her arsenal. She's gonna steam up those rimless glasses and get mascara streaming down her eyes (and trust me she won't have waterproof mascara on either) and look in the cameras and say something like "I just a mother want to serve my country and make it a better place for my children and yours"
That's all she has left.

|
And in specific, they take issue with her use of the children and her family problems in the public eye. They abhore her use of her son's service as a campaign device. So I'd say most mothers can not stand Palin.

Unfortunately, here in swing state NM, I know several mothers who adore her (god knows why). I try to tell them that she's the antithesis of feminism, but they don't care. I just hope it's not enough to swing the state for McCain.

4. May I disagree. I do not know that she will best Biden, however |
|
she is one tough cookie and she knows that is her strength.
By the time of the debates she will have had more time to prepare.
She will work to "hold her own". Governors do not have experience in Foreign Relations.
If she holds her own, they will be happy to move on.

But they've built her up to be MORE qualified and knowledgeable than Obama. Now she looks stupid.

I'm thinking of changing my name to Cassandra.

59. EXACTOMUNDO ! The only way it will be a "win" for the US is ... |
|
been my call from about 1 minute after it broke that she was his pick, and the media started up with playing it BOTH ways, HARD:
1) Well, you see, Joe, expectations are SO low, she doesn't have to do much to win. 2) At the same time, Joe, Biden has to be VERY careful.
IMO, Biden is smart enough to know this, and is going to be INCREDIBLY gentlemanly and statesmanlike. He will NOT go out of his way to make her look any more stupid that she is - he will simply beat her on basic knowledge and be a gentleman about it - she won't fall to the ground foaming at the mouth, the media WILL hail it a "win" for Palin/McCain, the right wing sill applause their idiot being praised by the media, and the best we can hope for is there are are enough truly moderate and reasonable voters out there who will see for all the light of day that shrill moron she is.
THAT is the only possible "win" for BO, and the country.

5. I'm sure Joe is prepared for that eventuality. |
|
If she does that, he should gently say "It's okay, it's okay. Everything is going to be all right." And then he signals to the moderator that he is fine with stopping the debate to give her "space." He would be a gentleman and would treat it as if she had become faint and needed to stop and have some water.
It's the only way he could handle that. Afterwards, he could praise her for sincerity. In other words, kill her with kindness!

Tammy Faye Bakker used to do? Pulls at them there heart strings don't ya know. But when Hillary damn near got somewhat emotional when she was tired and emotionally drained from campaigning long hours, remember the backlash on her? You're right though...bet it does happen and old "mouthpiece" Joe is gonna be taken to the woodshed. Damn thing is all staged for a bunch of "gotchas" I hope Joe paints her in a corner very softly, diplomatically and intelligently so that her bloomers get bunched up within the first 3 minutes. I can't wait!

20. Since this fool Palin is nothing |
|
more than a contrived and cynical marketing ploy, I wonder how Biden could even win in this debate - assuming it happens at all. If he owns her, even respectfully, he's a sexist pig. If he shows her 'respect and deference,' he's a lightweight who couldn't even take moosemommy to task when he needed to. The only real question is how the country will react to what's sure to be disgusting spin from the evil bastards on the right after she does get her ass handed to her.
On the other hand, I could see the 'pit bull' losing her marbles and not necessarily crying, but losing it by way of wagging her finger/fist and raising her voice when she knows that she has no idea how to tackle the issue on the table. The toughest task planning-wise for Biden is how to deal with a complete amateur who won't understand the norms and general etiquette of such a forum.
I'm still thinking that this debate will be canceled due to the 'unfair and sexist attacks' by the media that should remove this pea-brain from any further scrutiny, and we'll see how that would fly with the media.

Of course, since this is moderated I would presume the questions will be put to each of them by the moderator, each having a time to respond, so a back and forth between him and her might not happen.

the scenario I picture: Like the rest of America seeing a VP cry, Biden, after a look of stunned horror, "Huh? Am I really seeing this?", he will quickly gather his wits and he should, and hope he would, be sympathetic, "Are you okay Gov. Palin?", and "Would you like a few moments? Gwen, can we stop for a few minutes?". I honestly don't think it would be a stretch for Joe Biden to be a gentleman and be kind to her, attack dog notwithstanding.
A combination of both would be best, I suppose, but isn't it bizarre that we're even talking about this in a VP debate?
