Is McCain planning to switch Romney for Palin?

It may seem far-fetched, but a few things tme to believe this might be in the cards. First, and most obvious, are the polls showed that Biden helped Obama with constituencies that should have been McCain's.

But it occurred to me that it's rather strange that Palin hasn't released her medical records. Andrew Sullivan should be harping on this.

Palin mentioned on MTV in February that she thought Romney “said all the right things about resource development in Alaska,”...

And then there was the fundraiser with George H. W. Bush with Bush telling the media that he is “strongly supporting him” (McCain) adding, “My respect for him has no bounds.”

Anyone else sensing this? I know it might be perceived as a desperation move for McCain, but if he did it now, there would be a lot of time before the election for people to absorb the news. It would really have to be done carefully and without making Palin look bad.
