What I've learned since the Palin interview:
After watching quite a few different news analyses, and reading quite a few blogs, here is some of what I've learned.

1. Quite a few people who support Palin haven't had a TV or followed politics until a week ago. They keep insisting that Obama and Biden have NEVER been asked questions this tough.

2. Those with media access who support Palin have been fooled by Charlie Gibson for the past 20 years. They've loved him and never miss watching him, but he is now dead to them, because he's finally shown himself to be a biased liberal media hack.

3. The media believes that as long as Palin can walk and chew gum at the same time, she comes out ahead. They've talked about how, as long as she has no major mistakes, she'll be fine. I do not know what qualifies as a major mistake.

4. The media believes this race is over. That everyone has hardened their positions and there will be no moving anyone from where they are right now. Hold the elections tomorrow!

5. The women who support Palin don't believe in equal treatment for women, they expect better treatment for women. Asking hard questions evidently is condescending and rude. Doing follow up questions is unfair. Gibson should have treated her more respectfully, because she's a woman.

6. A candidate for VP does not need to know the basics of our current foreign policy. No big deal. As long as you can see Russia from an island in your own state, you're good to go.

There are probably many other things to be learned from this interview. What other things did you learn?

1. Tough questions. Would you support Israel if it strikes Iran? Are you
ready to be VP? These tough questions?

3. I'm hearing and reading a lot of whining about Gibson's use of the word
"hubris". As if that hasn't been mentioned, hashed and rehashed, and thrown at Obama constantly for the past 19 months.

Those were basic questions, and she couldn't handle them.

5. Jeesh. She said she didn't blink an eye before she accepted McCain's
request she be on the ticket. She couldn't even see that she is woefully unqualified and her answer implys she never discuseed it with staff or family. That is hubris.

2. I'm waiting until tonight to see what ABC does
They floated some stuff last night. The real interview, as I understand it, will be shown on 20/20 this evening. So, how will ABC react to the reviews of what they've floated? Will they show a profile and reedit what they already have to cover for her and/or minimize the damage to the Republican ticket or will they continue to expose her for the fraud she is?

4. They're caught between a rock and a hard place. I think it's going
to depend on how Gibson wants to be reviewed. He took a lot of heat from his peers over that Democratic debate and how much they sucked. He may want to redeem himself. On the other hand, he may be more interested in pushing his own personal political agenda and providing coverage for Palin, and redeem her, instead.

6. You've summed it up beautifully
That's what I'm waiting to see. Does Charlie want to be a journalist or a talking head? I know this sounds a little overly dramatic but the answer will help determine the election.
