2 New Obama Ads--Verdict: THEY SUCK |
|
http://www.mydd.com/story/2008/9/12/6434/07836One must ask, after all that's been lobbed at him by McCain/Palin over the past week, is this the best Obama can do? Does he want to lose? *shakes head*

Announce stronger attacks, causing them to worry, then come out with these lightly snarky ones, all the while planning the real hard-hitting, damaging stuff for later on?

|
this is how the repigs have branded us all as stupid uninformed Americans. (which I will admit some are)
and get responses like GO SHOPPING. so many Americans have been brainwashed by this filthy administration, and the media.
we have to snap out of this stupor.

43. This is less adult than really calling them to task would be |
|
When the Republicans have lied us into war, stolen half the economy, divided the country by race, religion and region, the mature thing to do is to say that and say it's unacceptable. Be honest, but stand up for our beliefs. That's more adult than just kind of indicating that we need change - that sounds more like a high school student.

the Dem 527's that were just put up today. I happen to think Obama is right on not having his campaign put out the nasty ones. It would undercut the image he has tried so hard to sell. Im GLAD he release the 527's though.

when you have McCain running the "wolves" ad, telling people Obama wants to teach kindergartners how to have sex and saying Obama has been "disrespectful" (wink, wink) toward Palin.

Republicans can say that up is down and day is night and the corporate media will never challenge them. But a Democrat can be pilloried across every news network for something his preacher said or an essay his wife wrote when she was in college.

18. First of all, do you really believe after 8 years of republican rule |
|
after mccain who has voted 90% with bush, and after both mccain and his VP cavilier position on war, that people don't know where both sides stand?
This election is really quite simple, it is about what America really is.
If they want more of bush, they will vote for mccain. If they want roe overturned, they will vote for mccain. If they want privitized social security and medicare, they will vote for mccain
In other words, if they are happy with the last 8 years they will vote for mccain
Incidently, my money is that Obama is going to win

I don't usually agree with the talking heads who pan Obama's ads, but these two are ridiculously weak. Someone needs to tell him he's running for president, he's not running to show us he's the perfect Christian.
Take the gloves off, O, or you're going home to the NICE GUYS FINISH LAST REUNION with Mondale and Dukakis.

The change ad makes light of McCain's lack of computer skills. A lot of people don't even know why it would be important that he knows how to use a computer. That ad was crap.

The "Change" ad is a nice adult-sounding piece, but the one talking about McCain's age seems like it's just name-calling. It comes across as petty.

First ad = ISSUES, we win on issues.
Second ad = McCain = Bush and failed policies, we win when we tie McCain to his republican party.

|
Some people will never be satisfied. There will always be whiners. I think those two ads are exactly what we need to see. Do you want him to become McNasty? If he changes his tone and becomes too negative: a) the repubs will say politics as usual and that he's not for change b) the media will pick up on it and saying he has changed his stance and they will rip him to shreds. Come on people. Stop whining.

Saying John McCain doesn't know how to use a computer.
This is it?
I want an advertisement that calls him out for lying about a bill that protects kids from sexual predators, and claims Obama wants sex education for kids. Imagine if Obama put out an advertisement that shows McCain supporting Bush 90% of the time, and says he's embracing Rove politics and is lying about Barack Obama's education record. That would outrage people. Most people don't know the truth about McCain's education ad, and it's hard hitting. We have to hit back.
Or what about these advertisements claiming sexism? Obama should call it false, and have an advertisemnt on his record vs. McCain's on womens issues. Hit McCain on equal pay.
We can do better than this.
