When people who have distain for one another have to feign comraderie for kabuki purposes, they'll do a "Don't touch me" hug. It is a hug where they go in and make it look like they're hugging, but don't quite touch. In fact no physical contact is made.

HATE is a pretty strong word.

I think McBush sees her as his ticket to the WH and so his view of her is purely exploitative.

She has helped to energize his party in the way he clearly couldn't.

Frankly, I think he comes off stiff, awkward, and uncomfortable a lot....even BEFORE she joined the ticket.

Even his smiles and silly thumbs-up moves appear robotic.

I think his GOP handlers saw that inherent lack of warmth and chose Palin to help bring some of it back.

Mind you, I'm not defending her at all, I just think think McCain's view of her is very calculated and consequently, POLITICAL.

He obviously did NOT put "Country First" in choosing her.....only his own political ambitions.
