1. How can you judge the effectiveness so soon? Obama's ad just came out. |

4. Don't you get it? The concern troll's point this morning has to do with ads |
|
We will be treated to 700 posts on how terrible just terible just terrible just terrible just terrible just terrible just terrible just terrible just terrible just terrible just terrible are the Obama campaign's ads.
By the end of the day, you will count upwards of 50 original posts on this subject, and perhaps 15-20 "polls" stating the same. It will become such a flood that even people who would otherwise say "WTF is this now?" will start to doubt themselves and suspect perhaps that the ads really really realy are just terrible just terrible just terrible.
Count on mentions of "Kerry" and "it's happening again" to reach into the low hundreds.

5. Some of us don't like to kowtow ... |
|
... while others seem to play into the right wing meme of Obama as messiah. Criticism is good, provided the people at the Obama campaign have the intelligence to consider it objectivity. I trust them in that way, perhaps you don't.

9. You're posting in the wrong place, smarty! |
|
Please send your notes of concern directly to the Obama campaign.
It would be the intelligent and efficient thing to do.

6. It's called constructive criticism - it's needed in the marketing and advertising world |
|
It's the only way that products, companies, and yes, even candidates are able to survive and differentiate themselves in front of a populace still enamored with the TV. Criticism is what drives the industry. It's the only way we get any better at what we do and its the only way that a candidate can win in the public sphere - they have to take constructive criticism.

11. Snark aside, you seem to have little understanding of the dynamics |
|
Ever heard of Focus Groups? They take the criticisms and compliments from regular people and refine their strategy. Much the same as us here at DU critiquing and armchair quarterbacking - some of it is worthless but much of it is useful to anyone watching. We are a pretty good sample size to gauge reaction and interest.

3. Love Obama.. but his ad's aren't doing it.. |
|
They're not exciting.. they're not getting talked about. And, the latest one "1982" is frankly just going to piss off the very people he's trying to attract. Yes, McCain doesn't know how to use a computer. Neither do those 65 year old white ladies you're trying to pull across the aisle, damn it. The people who DO know how to use a computer? The under 40 crowd - and they're already voting for you!!!
Obama's ad's need to focus on: McCain flip/flopping, his econimic strategy to help the rich, his do-nothing health care policy, his wanting to stay in Iraq, etc. Don't get drug into the mud with the trivial "he doesn't know how to use a computer" bs.
And I LOVE this guy!

10. So the hell with being the best POTUS? |
|
Do we really want to be the best attacking, nasty, lying party? I thought McCain was the candidate who wants to win at any cost and will lie to do it. Guess I was wrong and many here are comfortable with his tactics and I have to wonder why they support a candidate that says we need to change how politics and campaigns and government is run.
