Last night I got an email from a rightwinger comparing Sarah Palin to Teddy Roosevelt because they both like to hunt, they both had lots of kids and they both were a 2 year Governor when selected for Vice President.

Roosevelt formed the Rough Riders at a bar in San Antonio and fought in the Spanish American War. Palin could find San Antonio on a map if you gave her three tries, and may have heard of the Spanish American War at one of those colleges she attended.

Roosevelt formed the Bull Moose Party and Palin killed the Moose.

2. Teddy Roosevelt is the new talking point

The sad thing is the GOP is so ignorant of history it took them this long to dig him up. The other sad thing is that Teddy was govenor of the most populous state in the country when he was selected to be VP and the strategy was not to help win an election but to burry his political career in NY early because he was making the GOP bosses there very angry.

Teddy was also well educated intellectually curious and had been to more countries than Palin at a time when there was no air travel.
