it, as are his fellow republicans in the senate.

Obama needs to make an ad zeroing in on how taxing big oil for windfall profits and giving that money back to the taxpayers is a good idea and it works.. just ask Sarah Palin. He should ask "Why are John McCain and republicans in the senate trying to protect big oil companies?"

1. And yet it was just 3 months ago that McCain said this:
"I am very angry, frankly, at the oil companies not only because of the obscene profits they've made but at their failure to invest in alternate energy to help us eliminate our dependence on foreign oil," the senator said. "They're making huge profits and that happens, but not to say, 'We're in this so we can over time eliminate America's dependence on foreign oil,' I think is an abrogation of their responsibilities as citizens."

Come convention time, though, it's "Drill Baby Drill."

2. Yeah, and the "drill baby drill" mantra doesn't even make sense because our government
does not own the oil or the american oil companies like Venezuela does, therefore they can't ensure that americans get cut a sweet deal on the price of gas. OPEC will dictate the price of oil no matter where it is drilled. They don't care if there is oil in Alaska or in the middle east.. it will cost the same at the gas pump either way. Republicans really are stupid!
