2. It's interesting to me. My dad grew up near Jimmy Stewart's hometown in PA in the 20s.
One of five Jewish families in town, an obvious target. When he was five, the Klan marched down the Main Street in full regalia. Yet despite being a religious minority and not totally accepted by his neighbors and people in the town, my father grew up with a deep-seeded and unreasoned prejudice against African-Americans. He's okay with individuals, but not with a "group". I theorize having a common bias was the only way he could hope to be minimally accepted by the status quo.

3. I thought the comments of the woman who grew up on a farm were interesting.
Even if Obama were Muslim, which he isn't, what does that, in and of itself, matter? It seems that this woman, and people liker her, are choosing to vote for McCain out of pure bigotry. Their paranoia runs so deep, that even when a candidate might be perceived (even falsely) as being from a certain ethnic or religious background, that person is immediately untrustworthy. It's amazing.

4. I thought the bit where she said Obama would be a Muslim until he was dead
or "killed," as she put it, was revealing. I guess, she was implying Muslims usually wind up blowing themselves up?

Is Obama a suicide bomber?

5. I listened and it makes me so sad
I couldn't believe my ears. Racism is still very much alive. It's a damn shame.
