I mean. What are the excuses. I need a "why" and not a "what".

Please tell me what the hell are people thinking??? (or are they simply not.)

1. No, there is NO good reason, and they're not thinking. There was a bumper sticker
- I think started in Austin in the 80's - that said 'VOTE REPUBLICAN: IT'S EASIER THAN THINKING'. That sez it all.

You have to be over $250,000 for a family to even start getting any kind of tax increase.

12. Repubs plan is to convince people to vote AGAINST Obama.
This is classic rovian politics. Our goal this time is to defeat this type of politics once and for all. A lot depends on young voters turning out for Obama. I believe that's what will win it for Obama.

Repubs have actually admitted that they think this election is not about issues! Their plan is to scare people and to tear dowm Obama. Let's make sure that this doesn't work.

Another voter doesn't need a good reason for you... they need a good reason for themselves.

A casual perusal of any right-leaning board.

they see Obama as gun-grabber, socialist, pro-Abortion, weak on terror, Weak on the war, inexperienced, picked a female running mate, weak on energy (anti-oil), Harvard liberal know it all...

... it doesn't have to make sense... they still vote.

A vote for McCain and their gun rights are better preserved.

A vote for McCain and Roe v. Wade may go away... their religion is preserved.

A vote for McCain and we keep fighting islamists... America is preserved

A vote for McCain and the status quo is preserved.

A vote for McCain and I keep putting gas in my car.

Their perception of benefit is the only thing that matters. Whether there is actual benefit matters far less.

Yeah, but not too well thought out...perception may be one thing but reality is another...

Obama said pretty much that he is not taking anyone's guns away.

Roe v. Wade...you may have a point there for single issue idiots.

Fighting islamists makes more of them than we have the ability to fight.

The status quo is nothing to brag about. Decreasing dollars and human rights in place of security is insane.

We may be smart to be the first movers in an effort to mass produce our cars so that they run cleaner (if not without emmissions whatsoever) and more effiently. That's a strong ecnonomic and environmental.

21. They are delusional and self centered
They got theirs, and by God, they don't want the government to make them help anyone else!

They get to cheer the troops on like it was a sports event. They don't want that fun taken away, not even if lives would be saved.

They want to be better than someone else, just anyone, now they got the Mooslims and the welfare mothers and the immigrants picking lettuce for $1 an hour and the homeless. Their self esteem depends on there being someone inferior. Those Democrats might take that away!

To top it off, God will take care of everything for them, so they need not fear being in a low position themselves. They mistake their luck in life - being born white and middle class, for example, for some sort of virtue that makes them deserve it.

you know you can squeeze out a little more be sending some more jobs overseas, or deforesting a national park, or when those pesky OSHA regulations and fair labor practices really eat into your bottom line, then it's time to vote for More of the Same. Otherwise, I don't see why any normal person would vote Republican this year.

An answer that doesn't start off with "Because OMUSLIM would . . ." or "Because your boy CLINTON . . ."

Won't happen.

That requires being politically aware, which most Repukes aren't. There's also nothing worse than a stupid person pretending he/she is smart, which is another common trait among Republican'ts.

The reasons people would vote for McSame/Palintology are because of greed, being misinformed or ignorant, racism, the stupid culture war/fundie reasons, or just plain denial. Not one of them is good.

I heard the Independent numbers lady spouting the same lines on Coast To Coast AM last night - McCain is not Bush III, Palin is fresh, etc. Obama's been trying to get the message across, but the M$M media still stands in the way of getting the public informed. Therefore the upcoming attack ads are good.

and only four years in the Senate.

That was my concern with him and that's why he wasn't my first pick among the Dems. I think he has something like a 10% chance at being another Jimmy Carter, but I also think he has a higher potential that McCain has ever shown. So Obama is my man.

I wouldn't hold it against someone who voted McCain, given that is the only reason.
