Biden should answer the first debate question, "In What Respect , (first name of questioner)? |
|
It would get a big laugh at Sarah's expense and it would throw her off for the rest of the debate. Yes it would be a cheap shot which being the gentleman that he is, Joe is not likely to do it.

3. Yes! That would be SO funny. Do you think the phrase is |
|
getting legs though? I mean beyond our parallel universe here on DU?

5. Don't know but it is at least as funny/clueless illuminating as "heckava job, Brownie" and |
|
look where that one went. I think that one was first noted here as well. DU usually has a pretty good sense about these things.
And then there is "Perhaps so." in response the question about whether war with Russia might be necessary if Georgia were a member of NATO and Russia invaded it.
Not "Oh I hope not!" Or, "we have to use diplomacy to make sure it doesn't come to that!"
I mean no one has given such a cold fish answer to a loaded question since Dukakis responded to the hypothetical question about someone raping his wife.

6. I think Biden should include the "Charlie" in his response |
|
no matter who the questioner is. It's just not the same bon mot without "Charlie" in it.

7. That would accomplish one thing for the rest of the debate |
|
For the rest of the debate, she wouldn't be able to answer any question with the equivalent of "I have no idea what you're talking about but here's a bunny with a pancake on its head."

12. an ad, yes, definitely. Not in the debates, IMHO |
|
Maybe after she fluffs a question, I guess. But if it looks like he had his punchline all ready to go no matter what the question is, it just looks mean.
But oh boy howdy, could "In what respect, Charlie?" be a funny ad.
