I called the Obama campaign and I told them to ignore Sarah Palin and focus on McCain. |
|
I also told them to use the word liar more.

1. Why would you do that? |
|
Palin is the one that is propping up McCain.

4. The more threads I see about her here, the more desperate we seem |
|
McCain is the candidate - P* is the "shiny object". We are propping up P*.

5. I couldn't agree more. |
|
We are playing right into their plan. They are going to use her to try and keep from addressing the issues, and get the sympathy vote from women who think the "boys" are being mean to her! McCain is the link that will break in this race, and I think Obama and his camp know that, and they will go after him even stronger from now on, and let the media take care of Palin, or let her own "mouth" take care of herself!

9. Those looking for what's hot by scanning the "liberal blogs" will see P* threads all over |
|
They will assume that if even the liberals see her as "all the rage", then she must be a threat to them. Then they will try to find a story to explain what the obsession is about.

|
And the "black and white" type posters say thing like "ignoring her would be a huge mistake".
As if not obsessing over P* is equivalent to ignoring her.

We are like addicts. I don't agree with ignoring her - the O/P goes to the other extreme. Looking like we're needing a hit of her(oine) when we're down? That's even more pathetic. I'd rather ignore her at our peril than obsess which includes our certain death.

23. We are all Palin. Obama has mostly ignored her except |
|
to answer questions. They have stuck to McCain and issues. McCain's camp and pundits say Obama is focusing on her, they are in a panic, they are attcking her.
But they are not doing any of those things. That's us.

25. Yep, this and other blogs have been specifically mentioned by McCain and surrogates (Fox) |
|
It's funny, and a little bit "that's cool that they care what we say", but in the end, we are helping them to "promote and extend" this distraction. The more the Republicans think she will help them (which is what we are proving by obsessing over her), the more they will continue to push her. We (DU) really are a part of this loop and I wish we weren't.

Because Obama is keeping her in the news if he keeps going after her. Let her get her own press!
Keeping her in the media spotlight just attracts more interest, more stories, more photos, etc. And it makes him look weak for going after the No. 2 guy. He is trying to be PRESIDENT; go after the other side's No. 1 guy.
This is really simple.

2. I'm sure they'll send those comments directly to the campaign manager |
|
and Obama himself, because goodness knows they never considered it until you called their office.
I wonder what productive thing the person you spoke to could have been doing instead when he/she was listening to your free advice? I wonder what productive thing YOU could have been doing to help the campaign instead?

been lacking the last 2 weeks then I would advise you to voice your concern as well.

10. I would advise you to actually do something productive |
|
and not call the campaign office again unless its to volunteer. I'm not interested in taking up the time of Obama staff and volunteers with my complaints because it keeps them for doing something that might help win the election. I've taken a lot of those calls for campaigns and most of the people who want to waste 1/2 hour of your time giving free advice are always "too busy" when you ask them to knock on doors or make phone calls.

15. I think they should be ignoring both the McCain and Palin personalities |
|
and focusing on the failed policies of the neo-con and GOP over the last 20 some-odd years.
McCain/Palin believe in what Reagan/Bush/Dole/Bush all believed in - the same failed policies the same bullshit rhetoric - the same hatred for the poor and those unable to provide for themselves.
Yes, use their names but don't forget that they just repeat what's been said for so many years.

contrast. McCain has been no new ideas he uses distractions so moderates won't know the difference between the two. Just like he tried to avoid his pro life stance on abortion.

You wait. They are gathering info as we speak and they'll blow Palin away once they've assembled all the dirt on her. They're waiting to see what Palin says, like this stuff about the "mission for god".
The best way to take someone down is using their own words against them. She's going down!
