Even Imus said this morning that Palin was "drowning" in the ABC interview.... |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-12-08 04:17 PM by PaulHo
... she was that far in over her head, and that he was embarrassed for her. His posse had mixed reactions.
Imus is supporting McCain ( Surprise.) I missed the interview; will watch tonite.
Was she that bad? What is the rest of the RW media saying? What about the so-called 'objective' media? I know she bombed on DU but what is the perception outside this little political and philosophical shangri-la?
Some of Imus' homies blamed it all on Charlie Gibson for being mean and asking tough questions. I find this hard to picture.

6. ROFL @ the "Blame Charlie Gibson" defense |
|
He fucking gave her the answer to the Bush Doctrine! She STILL didn't answer the question after that!
Seriously, I don't hate Imus because at least he seems to have realized that he was wrong and is trying to make amends. The fact that he can actually objectively state that Palin did horribly does him credit.

Either NPR or Imus re-played that portion of the interview. When edified, she clumsily went off on another tangent as though she hadn't been listening.

He's a lunatic, but will occasionally break out of the mold and make a cogent observation. This was one such occasion.

13. I watched part of the interview on GMA |
|
this morning, and could not understand why the repubs are so proud of her. She did not come across well. Her political ignorance was both sad and scary. She does have the "war mongering" attitude in common with McCain. Together, they scare me if elected. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ilan-goldenberg/palins-dangerous-saber-ra_b_125812.htmlI'll watch "20/20" tonight to get the rest of her interview.

15. Yeah.. Gibson was "tough" on Palin, but O'Reilly was a pushover with Obama??? |
|
W . T . F ????
O'Rielly was 10,000 times tougher on Obama then Gibson was with Palin. O'Reilly cut Obama off, was sarcastic, condescending, etc. And guess what? Obama's BETTER for it! There might have been even a couple of Republicans who saw that and thought - wow.. i might not agree with all of his policies, but he sure as shit knows what he's talking about.
Palin on the other hand was handed a few softballs that she promptly DROPPED, so she's going to blame the PITCHER? What the hell?
I'm sure that all future rouge leaders will be just as nice to Gov. Palin should she need to fill in and become president.. Putin won't even THINK about doing anything ill advised if she's at the helm. I have a feeling there are a lot of people who'd like to see her get the job, because they'd like to fuck around and see if she even knows what she's doing. That's a terrifying thought.

in the first term alone. Since mass culture has effectively fused the real and the unreal, she stands likely to appeal to a lot of voters who would do the country ( and the world) a favor by not voting at all.
