50-State Strategy in action - Obama opening HQ in central Arkansas tomorrow:
Today, I received the following email from the Obama campaign:

"On Saturday, September 13th, please join the Arkansas Obama campaign at the grand opening of the North Little Rock headquarters.

Come check out the new office, meet local staff, and celebrate with fellow Obama supporters in the area.

Here are the details:
North Little Rock Headquarters Grand Opening

112 West 7th Street
North Little Rock, AR

Saturday, September 13th
12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m."

I also got a sign-up email asking for poll watchers and other volunteers. They will be doing a training for volunteers next weekend in three Arkansas locations.

So, the campaign is putting real resources into Arkansas, which is shown solidly in the McCain column in the polls.

1. We're getting a headquarters in Tulsa, too.
Which shocks me.

4. That is surprising.
I have a feeling Obama fully intends to win this election, but he is smart enough to be looking to the next one, too, so keeps building his organization.

3. Pulaski County generally votes Democratic.
There is a rats' nest of RW Republicans in NW Arkansas (second largest population center -rapidly gaining on Central Arkansas). The Delta usually votes Democratic. Unfortunately, we do have more than our fair share of religious right nutcases and lots of racists.

5. Here's an email about Camp Obama trainings in AR on Sept. 20-21.
My name is Toni Kendall, and I'm the Arkansas State Director for the Obama campaign.

I'm excited to announce that we're on the ground in Arkansas, and next weekend, September 20th - 21st, the campaign is holding Camp Obama trainings across the state.

At Camp Obama trainings, you'll learn how we're spreading Barack's message of change to undecided voters both on the phone and face-to-face.

With less than eight weeks until Election Day, November 4th, we can't afford to sit on the sidelines.

Sign up for an Arkansas Camp Obama training and turn your enthusiasm into action.

Supporters like you are building a powerful grassroots organization in Arkansas that has already brought an unprecedented number of new voices into the political process.

But we also have the opportunity to use our organization to make a major impact on this election not only in Arkansas but also in Missouri. I've seen this movement in action, and I know we can make a difference in both states.

Sixteen years ago, Bill Clinton made history by bringing change to Washington from outside the beltway establishment.

Now, after eight more years of the same old tired politics and failed Bush-McCain policies, we have a real chance to elect Barack Obama and create the change we need -- but it's going to take all of us working together.

We can't do this without you.

Toni

P.S. -- Can't make a Camp Obama training next weekend? There are other ways to get involved -- no matter how much time you're able to commit, even an hour or two. Learn more about volunteering for Barack in Arkansas today:

6. That is awesome!
Obama has long had offices in San Antonio and around Texas since the primary! The Alamobama office has really been doing a lot of great things to get Obama's message out in SA! My mom works at a library in SA and had some McCain supporters call and ask for information on contacting their local office and guess what...they don't have one. They told them there wasn't even a single McCain office in TX and the closest office was in one of the battleground states. They were all upset and left.

7. OH PLEASE! Whoever said it would be easy? There are 7 or 8 states that can switch!
Here are the states:

Please tell us which ones you are going to, get out of your computer chair... stop complaining, get to WORK!!!!!!!!

OH NV NM FL IN ND VA .............and?

Tell us which state you are going to work in! Don't complain, get to work.

You can:

1)
Call people nationwide on weekends for free on your cell phone
2)
Drive to one of these states and spend 3 vacation days and a weekend there, working for Obama
3)
Send money, call friends and relatives to ask them to send money, do work, or whatever in those states.

I live next to one state that is in doubt, where Obama is ahead 5%...I work there DAILY, send their local chapters money, call people on my free phone minutes twice a week, 30 at a time.

What are you COMPLAINERS here doing?????????????? Oh! just posting!
