Will America Choose The Stupid?
Edited on Fri Sep-12-08 06:33 PM by Warren Stupidity
In the midst of the ongoing CorpMedia Orgasm over Palin, the cloistered vaginal candidate for vice president, it has become increasingly obvious that this candidate is either woefully, inexplicably ignorant for a normally intelligent person, or just rather stupid, or more likely both: none too bright and ignorant even for her IQ. Despite the perky demeanor and ability to deliver a nasty-gram with a certain panache on tv, Palin has demonstrated amply, and with such clarity that the media stenographers cannot manage to hide it that she is a dullard. Even the anointed Charles Gibson, selected to toss only the softest of balls at her delicate persona, cannot keep the fact of her naked dullness from us.

But wait, the top of this ticket is none too bright himself. The senile penile half of the ticket has repeatedly demonstrated a loose grasp on facts that ought to be readily available to a Washington insider, a policy wonk on the right who has been camped out in DC for nearly 30 years. McCain has lost it, whatever it was he had, and clearly part of the rationale for choosing the cerebrally challenged vaginal half of the ticket was to distract from the jarring bad-aging of the penile half.

The Republican party has chosen The Stupid as their standard bearers, and The Stupid is currently winning against a Democratic ticket that can only be described as 'pretty damn smart, and really knowledgeable'. Will America Choose The Stupid? It seems increasingly and appallingly likely that this is in fact what will happen.

When exactly did Stupid become a qualifying attribute for president and vice president? What hideous disastrous road has our citizenry gone down that has convinced them that they should choose people as dumb as they are to run our nation? How is this possible?

When you choose a doctor, do you look for one that went through five universities before managing to get his degree from some college you never heard of located in the Caribbean?

When you choose a lawyer, does ranking 5th from the bottom of his graduating class put that lawyer above all the others except those four who were below him?

But we are going to go for 'stupid like us' to run our country? Are we really that dumb?

1. NNNNEEEEERRDDDDSSSS!!!!
Let's face it: America hates smart people. Being a jock is much more respected than being a pointy-headed intellectual.

On the other hand, America also hates liars. So we still have hope.

Warren,

You express my sentiments exactly. I wish I was as eloquent as you are.

I laughed, then I cried while reading your post. The cry was much longer, though. I still remember 2004 and the re-election of one who should remain nameless. People were stupid then, and looking at recent polling, they appear to be as stupid and gullible as they were in 2000 and 2004.

I was literally depressed for over a year over the 2004 election fiasco.
