Dear Track Palin: Stay safe!

I know you're shipping out to Iraq very soon and I sincerely want to wish you well from the bottom of my heart. I want to thank you for your service to our country. I also want to caution you. You're a young man, not fully versed in the ways of the political world and its intrigues. Yes, I know your mother is the Governor of Alaska and the Republican candidate for Vice President. She's also thrown her lot in with some very, very unsavory characters, such as men who would start a war based on lies that has already killed over 4,000 of your comrades and our fellow citizens. Men who have helped murder hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis--men, women and children--because they have the misfortune to live atop a sea of oil. These are the kind of men, Track, that have shamelessly debased the memory of the innocent victims of 9/11 for their own political gain. These are the kind of men, I believe, that have killed clandestinely to further their own personal agenda. These are ruthless, shameless, warmongering men that would think nothing of taking another life--yours.

Here is my concern: one of our greatest weapons we have in the antiwar movement has been a Gold Star Mother, Cindy Sheehan. Her grief and pain over her son's death put a mother's face in front of the American public. She has dared to challenge the needless slaughter that took her son over and over again. She has been such a formidable entity that out own illegitimate pResident in Chief refuses to meet with her or even acknowledge her existence. Instead of standing as leader, he slinks away and cowers like the shameless coward he truly is.

Track, I am very concerned that these evil men would stop at nothing to have their own "Gold Star" symbol to parade around to continue justifying their illegal and immoral wars. I am not saying your Mother would want you harmed, cause your harm or willingly allow others to harm you. But that may not be her choice. As I said, the men she has chosen to align her future will stop at nothing to achieve their nefarious ends. They have already killed many, and would not hesitate to kill again. And quite frankly my young friend, you're worth more dead to them than alive. Stay safe, Track. Keep your head down. Come back safe to your family.
