Is it just me or are republicans more hate less fact?

I go to lots of different message boards.. lots of parenting message boards as well.

Even if the republicans are in the minority they are SO overbearing in their responses and SO rude.

I tried looking at it objectively as I could. I read like I had no party affiliation.. The democrats try to reasonably explain their positions, very calm and trying not to offend. But the republicans are always sarcastic, rude and mean.

Has anyone else noticed this? on other websites or even in real life? Even on myspace I have had two goofballs message me, never with any facts but insults. These were two men that probably wouldn't even know who our Secretary of State is...

so I don't think the GOP has a monopoly on idiocy and ignorance. There are plenty of people who are apolitical who act that way. Plus, the Democrat v Republican dichotomy framed here is very US-centric. There's certainly any amount of people overseas who act the way you describe who are far more liberal than some Democrats.

Even with normally reasonable people, if there is a topic that causes them to react based on emotions rather than the logic that they ordinarily rely on, they will act this way.

I'm sorry that you have had that experience though. It always sucks to be insulted for no reason whatsoever. It's nearly impossible to defend yourself or debate things with these people. It just sucks.

5. Normally I try to look at politics with intellect and not all this

emotion but having bad night. I can't even go to my normal pareting boards because the republicans there are so cruel and demeaning. I have tried so hard to be fair this election and watch everything I say.

14. I post on a mixed board off of one of the sports ...

boards I post at, and years ago, when the Rs were riding high, first came on to the board.

I was very "liberal" high minded and generally polite, and the right wingers just pilloried me.

I am not the type to take a beating, and within a few weeks I pretty much dished out on the same level, years later, I have left go of all efforts to be civil. I just HAMMER the right wingers, and they don't like it one bit. One thing I have found, they REALLY like to dish it out, spew prejoritives, call names, generalize ... But, when it comes back to them the same, they just go nuts.

said that if people would show up at their door they would be ticked off. They hate when people do that and didn't understand how it helped the campaign.

I wrote that I was glad that I didn't share that view and that when I had McCain volunteers come to my house I showed them respect and thanked them for volunteering.

19. It is very common to have that difference

It is difficult to find a republican or right winger who can disagree without getting mean. The truth or any type of reasoning is a threat to them. They build up a fantasy in their minds, and exposure to reason lights up its falsity.

You can always tell when you've backed them into a corner. They change the subject. They also firmly believe that having the last word means they have "won."

21. It's getting worse.

Recently, I have been ostracized for my political views. The group I play golf with is all Republican except for me. I was told (by my friend) to change my views or I could be replaced. I felt like I was in Nazi Germany. It was chilling and for the first time in my life I understood the pressure the Germans felt under Hitler. Since then, I've been approached by others and given the same warning. People it's starting here.
