The Debates will Make of Break this Election for the Democrats
Obama has to give his best debate performance ever against McLie when he goes up against him 3 times. Outside of those, we're going to get nothing but distractions. We also have a chance when Biden goes up against Palin (but I'm still skeptical about that happening...the Gibson interview shows she's CLEARLY out of her league...my pessimist side says they're thinking up a way out).

Barack wins on the issues, everyone knows this...McJoke's campaign, the MSM, EVERYONE. Which is why they don't want this election to be about issues, but distractions. If Obama can hit it out of the park against McCain, he'll win this election...I GURANTEE it! But he has to do well, he can't be timid or unsure. He doesn't have to come out pissed off, but maybe a little agitated.

1. Quite frankly, I think Obama and Biden are going to do just fine.
I predict that the net result will be a draw by the MSM though.

7. at best ...
Kerry beat the disaster in chief on substance by a wide margin, but the media either called it tied or a Bush win.

IMO, they:

1) Say BO was too high minded and did not have enough meat OR get him for being too policy oriented, then say that McCain was CONFIDENT and ASSERTIVE, and got the win.

2) They ALREADY have declared their intentions on Palin - she simply has to stay awake and they will say she won simply by standing up to Biden.

5. The 2004 debates turned the election from a rout to a close thing
Kerry caught up considerably due to them. Obama, on the other hand, is practically even right now. Of course volunteering is critically important as well.

6. I Was Looking At Gallup Charts From 04
You are absolutely correct...Kerry narrowed a thirteen point deficit to three... I debated in high school...I wish I could have clowned my opponents the way Kerry clowned Bush*...

3. Volunteering will make or break this election for Dems. Period.
Anything else is just a distraction.

4. Hopefully, McCain will show age
Obama will need to do very well to overcome the Republican "fix".
Keep giving, and keep talking to every voter.

8. And the Corporate Media is salivating after tilting
for McCain and Palin enough to guarantee big ratings.

As Randi Rhodes says -- these are not your League of Women Voter's Debates - these are negotiated corporate "debates".

I am too tense to watch any of them, as I am during any close Michigan game -- and yes, politics over the most powerful position on Earth has devolved into a "game".

Other than the hope and promise of Obama/Biden, this season is making me sick.

But I will work my heart out once again for the forces of light.
