1 in 5 chance, 20% historical probability.....
Those are the odds that Palin could some day be POTUS. Of course these numbers don't take into account McCains advanced age or recurring battles with cancer. 20% chance that an ill-informed, dishonest extremist could get her (moose) blood stained fingers on the button. Those aren't odds I can live with. :scared:

2. odds are maybe higher
you shouldn't be looking at the number of Presidents who have died in office or resigned and been succeeded; you should be looking at the survival rate of men of McCain's age, with McCain's family and medical history (father dead at 70, grandfather dead at 65, heavy smoker for over 25 years, four bouts with cancer)...I'd say the probability is likely more than 20%.

3. Well, that is the odds of her becoming president. But she may need to act as president temporarily
if McCain is ill, or undergoes medical procedures... etc.

The idea of her being in charge for even an hour is frightening to me, and there is a much greater chance of that than one in five

7. Many of today's voters don't remember the
last time a President died while in office (Kennedy) or resigned the office (Nixon), so it isn't something they think about.

I agree. The very idea of a President Palin is nauseating.

8. I'm much more concerned with her running for president herself in 4 or 8 yrs.
I dig the Dukakis videos though, Obama should copy them.
