Jesus Christ, a lot of you, or maybe just some of you, are pissing me off |
|
STOP looking for boogymen behind every ad. The point of going tougher in this election is the knowledge that you may piss a few people off. Campaign operatives, not message board posters, are paid very good (or at least passable) money to decide if the voters turned off by an ad are expendable when compared to the people who can relate and be won over by the ad.
Right now, on the front page, there are at least 3 threads whining about these new, tougher, ads. Yesterday there were just as many ads bemoaning the fact that Obama wasn't being tough enough. You can't have it both ways. Negative ads turn off people. Its the nature of the beast. The hope is that more people will be turned on by them.
In short, stop whining. Those who are paid for their opinions have vetted these ads, focused grouped these ads, and approved these ads. They had to see a net gain from running them
Stop being so squeamish.

12. No, it sucks that Obama can't run an ad that says "John McCain |
|
is a senile old lying son of a bitch who called his wife a body part and Sarah Palin is an ignorant religious nutcase." Those ads are fine.

20. If the ads aren't somewhat controversial |
|
They won't get attention from the media.
If we want to hit McCain hard, it's going to piss some people off.
That's how the game is played.
