If She's a Fucking Moron, It's the Media's Job to Call Her a Fucking Moron. |
|
NBC Nightly News said tonight that Palin conquered her Charlie Gibson interview without any major -- or minor -- blunders. That's ridiculous on its face.
Why does the media continue to baby her?? She could end up running this country! If she has less knowledge on foreign policy than the average college student (and that's being kind), the American people need to know.
They act like this charade is without consequences. THE FUTURE OF THE FUCKING WORLD IS AT STAKE, AND THE MEDIA IS ESCORTING THIS DANGEROUS IDIOT TO THE WHITE HOUSE.

3. The media in this country is a joke and we should face facts. |
|
It's easier to find hard hitting journalism on The View and The Daily Show than the big media outlets.
They still report "the news", but we have 1 network that rabidly flaunts it's power for an agenda (FOX) and 5 other networks (MSNBC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and ABC) that are neutered to the point of idiocy and the people we elected allowed it to happen (Clinton included) by allowing such consolidation of the media into the hands of people who will not allow their interests to be interfered with.
I'm not sure we'll ever see that change.
What might offset that is other sources of information such as the internet.

Of course I can't expect our media to actually be competent. But shouldn't I expect them to be?

Want it. Hope for it. Ask for it. Work for it.
But our media is about ratings and income now.

I was watching McLaughlin Group and they (except Eleanor) ALL defended her, with a straight face, deer in the headlights answer on the Bush doctrine. "She was really thinking on her feet!", blah blah blah. "It was a good answer because the Bush doctrin changed from 2000 to 2006 where they rejected pre-emptive force."
what pukes!

10. They've done the same thing for Bush all along |
|
I mean, back in the 2000 race, Al Gore crushed him in the debates. It was obvious to anyone with a functional brain, but Bush got points for just being there. I remember in one of the debates when Bush asserted "I'm a leader" as if stating such in a declarative sentence obviously makes it so, but the media excepted it as fact. It's like America's put idiocy on a pedastal. There's this grade school mentality that the smart kids think they're better than us so we'll back the kid who's taking a nap in the back row.

It's so fucking retarded that the Republicans who sneer at being PC are now hiding behind PCness.
Stupidity and ignorance has no barriers. You can be a female idiot, a black idiot, a male idiot, a white idiot, an Asian idiot, a Christian idiot, whatever. You're still a fucking a idiot.

Would it have been so hard if one of them would have said something like......
"Do you know how fucking stupid you sound praising this empty skirt? Are we supposed to take anything you say seriously after that?"
Just call them out on it. Question their credibility for vouching for her.

21. Like I said above, I realize it's my fault for trying to watch the Nightly News. |
|
And I know the media's been fucked up for years, blah, blah, blah.
But in a somewhat reasonable world, shouldn't I be able to expect the media to be at least somewhat competent? I know everyone here thinks that's an insane demand, but it really shouldn't be. I guess I just need to admit that the world's totally fucked and there's no point worrying about it anymore.
Time to get excited about praying for President Palin, everyone! :bounce: :bounce:

24. Where is this reasonable world you speak of? |

Reason has nothing to do with corporate media coverage of Presidential elections, they've made a living for decades promoting image over substance. They readily blame this on the American People without any regard to their own inherent power and the responsibility that should go with it of programming and shaping the people's mood with their hundreds of millions of one way megaphones.
They're well accomplished at manipulating the American People's emotions, that's the ball field with them, not the field of reason. That's how we got Bush in the first place.
Palin was evasive in her answers but the corporate media are loathe to describe the interview in this way because it doesn't square with the Annie Oakley image from Alaska, they've been so careful to cultivate.
