Some horses are worth the most they'll ever be before you start doing anything with them. They look like they should perform, they have the right pedigree and the right conformation and so you can get good money for them before they are broke. But as soon as they start getting used, you figure out that they don't have the right mind for the work or they just don't have the talent you thought they would.

Palin is like that. She was 'worth' a lot to McCain's campaign as long as she was an unknown. She has the right looks and the right personality, but she doesn't have the right mind and she lacks talent. As soon as the McCain campaign starts trying to 'use' her, everybody is going to see that she isn't a show horse, she's a nag.
