Biden called McCain's health plan a Bridge to Nowhere; time to make that the new Pub ticket brand
McCain Palin:

Nowhere on jobs
Nowhere on tax cuts for the middle class
Nowhere on health care
Nowhere on energy
Nowhere on ethics
Nowhere on education
Nowhere on trade
Nowhere on equal pay
Nowhere on choice
Etc.

Where would they take us? Nowhere. You can build a rally around that. Reminds people of their double talk on earmarks and everything else. More important, it's the perfect description of what a McCain victory would mean for us.

4. and we won't even be ripping off Palin's line
because Obama said "Thanks, but no thanks" first in his convention speech.

The Obama/Biden campaign would be wise to adopt that slogan.

12. That's really where the Republicans would lead us - NOWHERE!
I think it's a winner. Republicans are the "do nothing" party - it's appropriate that unlike Bill Clinton who built the "bridge to the 21st century", the Republicans are builing a "bridge to nowhere" for the US.

20. Ok, you guys inspired me
This is my first YouTube creation, so if it sucks, just say so! But, I tried to incorporate all of your awesome ideas into a brief 45 second clip entitled: "McCain/Palin: A Bridge to Nowhere Campaign"

Description: "Unlike Bill Clinton who promised (and delivered) a bridge to the 21st century, McCain & Palin are offering us a bridge to nowhere for the future of the United States."

Here is the url: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNiZFn4HqcM

P.S. Ignore the "evaluation copy" watermark on the clip - I didn't want to buy the software 'til I knew it worked...

32. Great video! Why not send it to the Obama campaign?
It would make a great ad -- they could expand on the idea and maybe have pictures in the background of empty strip malls, foreclosed houses for sale, people looking for work, that sort of thing while the words are scrolling.

Send it here - http://my.barackobama.com/page/s/contact2

36. Got to get the facts out there on the nowhere plan
People have no clue what McCain's health care plan is. If they knew, they'ld be terrified.

And all this government run health care that McCain pulls out...that is BS. My husband is a federal employee and I can tell you that our health care is not free and it is not run by the government. It is different HEALTH CARE insurance companies offering group coverage. The Risk pool is Federal employees.

Why can't people get a clue that if the risk pool was even larger then the premiums would go down? McCain's plan would cost everyone even more money. It would get rid of all risk pools and make it very man for themselves. It's a nightmare.

Road to nowhere ...and they need to own it as well.

42. you are right, most people don't have a clue. The bigger the pool, the lower
the risk and either premiums, deductible or copay go down and/or benefits go up. The power of a really large group always negotiates the best rates and packages.

let's see ...assuming the 47 million uninsured persons who are not already in Medicaid..in other words working folks who make too much money for Medicaid...

contribute $ 1 per month per person and their employer does the same: $94 million a month x 12 months = 1 billion, 128 million in the pool per year.

Of course the premiums would be higher it is just fun to see how much money accumulates using the smallest amount possible. So if the worker pays $10 per person and the employer matches it, just add some zeroes. Pretty soon you are talking some big bucks there.

Of course all the underinsured would want to participate which makes the risk pool even larger. it is a NO BRAINER

Sliding scale premiums would be useful, which could be evaluated at open enrollment time, so if someone got a big increase in income then their premium might be a little higher, up to a cap of course.

ANd this plan would go with them from employer to employer without gaps in coverage, and if they became unemployed, could be sustained via COBRA at much lower monthly amounts too.

They should have just asked me what to do , I would have told them
