6. we're still guaranteed a sweet Palin sketch
the SNL writers have likely been chomping at the bit to get at her.

27. Probably why he canceled.
He can't be there while they are giving Sister Sarah he well-deserved comedic beat-down. The 'NO FAIR' police would be ALL OVER him.

7. I think this is the wise move.
Boy, they are working David Shuster to death today! Guess he got the short straw.

14. ha
Shuster's accent when he pronounces "again" cracks me up...he says it about every other sentence too.

9. Probably because of Ike
I wouldn't put it past Obama to try to go down to Texas to help Ike victims. :patriot:

16. Awwww.... I can understand why though
But nuts... I wanted to see more of Barack. Hey, maybe he can make it up to SNL by going on there together with Joe!

But yeah, I agree that it would be bad to appear when SNL might potentially make fun of Palin (he's still trying to kill the lipstick nonsense) and the possible Ike damage.

25. Drat. I mean, the quality has been going downhill for years, but
SNL is a kind of cultural icon. They will be missed.
