Biden gave average of $369 to charity a year
What a nothing story, I can't wait till Ms. Mooseburger reports.
The Bidens reported giving $995 in charitable donations last year — about 0.3% of their income and the highest amount in the past decade. The low was $120 in 1999, about 0.1% of yearly income.

Over the decade, the Bidens reported a total of $3,690 in charitable donations, or 0.2% of their income

1. I don't understand this post, it seems like it could become a talking point
for the other team.

28. Well Biden is not one of our wealthy legislators.
He hasn't been enriching himself at public expense.

2. That's not what he *gave*, it's what he *reported*
They also gave money to their church and made some other charitable contributions.

Unlike Mr. Cindy McCain, Biden doesn't have a wife worth $100,000,000.

6. Exactly - It Simply Means He Didn't Cheat
I donate far more than I report. Unfortunately, my donations are usually to individuals who really need it instead of to questionable but IRS qualified charities.

17. Right. If he put $20 into the collection plate each week, that would be another
$1000 a year.

Most people probably don't report those cash donations.

24. Hey Ben When You Donate You Get The Search Function
It means you can go back and see what people have posted in the past. We who have donated use it when we see a poster who posts continual BULLSHIT. There is no stalking involved. We have a life and we are happy to have donated to DU. Oh you didn't know that? You just think people who are up on your past posts are stalkers? Poor Baby Ben. Boo Hoo for you.

26. I was looking for an answer giving me a reason to.
What is the significance of his charitable donations? He isn't rich, not even close, so why does what he gives to charity matter?

11. Uh... yeah. If we actually had some Democrats in power....
and could build some functioning social services in this country, we wouldn't need to throw money at bullshit church charities.

13. How much did Palin give to charity. Especially to native who she refers to as Snow Arabs

Then there's Dick Cheney with a net worth of
$100 million who only donates to Repug PAC and
Neo Con 'foundations'

$120 or 0.1 % means an income of $120,000 per
year. $120,000 per year barely makes the living
expenses of a senator in Washington DC.

This is the most fucked up story of them all. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080912/ap_on_fe_st/odd_donation_declined_1

Give me a break. If I win the Mega Millions I can't give back to charity? What the fuck is wrong with people.
