Why does the party built on sexism get to lecture us about sexism?
Any idea? Seems kind of weird to me.

If instead of Palin, McCain picked an incompetent, unqualified black guy who'd served as governor of a small, inconsequential state for a few months, would they be lecturing us about racism? Would the media be scared to question his qualifications for fear of being called racist? Would legitimate criticisms be silenced by fear? Because that seems just about as ridiculous to me as everyone running scared from Republican charges of sexism.

Just for kicks, next time the Republicans should pick an illegal alien for VP, and then lecture all of us on our bad anti-immigrant attitudes. I bet they could pull it off.

3. Same reason that they can now put forth the "Candidates of Change" and
have begun to advertise that Obama/Biden will give us "More of the Same".

I kid you not.

It's because they've got nothing, and the only way they can see to win is to try to assume our strong points.

10. Conservatives are happy to let us do the work and take the risks.....
involved in changing society, and then reap the benefits and co-opt the rhetoric of change for their own devices. It happens all the time. Just tonight Sarah Palin stole Obama's acceptance speech line about abortion for her interview.

As for your analogy about the unqualified black man, it happened. His name is Clarence Thomas and he is a Supreme Court Justice. The GOP cried 'racism' when critics pointed out that Thomas had only been a judge for a few months, had gotten poor reviews, and hardly seemed unqualified to be appointed to the highest court in the land. Once again, the issue was qualification for the job, which was warped into racism. The GOP succeeded in confusing the issue, and Thomas has been on the Bench for 17 years now, where he has proven to be just as inappropriate as predicted.

Conservatives lack imagination IMO, and take their cues from us.

13. Because Democrats are afraid to call them on it!
Republicans can do whatever they want because Democrats refuse to call them on it.

Why didn't Hillary come out and say it - the party who has worked so hard against women's rights is now calling other people sexist. Give us all a break.

16. Apparently, Hillary refused to be the Palin attack dog for Obama:
"...one source close to the Clintons...(said) that a high ranking Obama staff member indicated to a Clinton counterpart that they would like Mrs. Clinton to take a more aggressive tack, and that the answer was no."

I think she feels Obama, the Dems and the U.S. deserve what we're having to deal with: Palin as a nominated VP candidate. Her lack-luster "support" of Obama is really showing. Her nose is still so out-of-joint, that she can't see past it, not even to save our democracy. She is now "The Punisher." THAT'S how pissed off she still is at losing.

It's been stated in the past that with the Clinton's, "it's always about the Clinton's." I now think that Hillary Clinton really does look at everything through a "me" frame. Should she ever run again, she won't have my support.

17. So she's willing to let a fundie pageant queen reap the benefits...
...of all of her hard work and the hard work of generations of feminists before her?

another attempt in 2012 is that important?

I was willing to forgive Hillary after her stellar convention night, but I'm reconsidering.
