** FOLKS .. I THINK THE MSM REALIZED SOMETHING WHICH IS WHY THEY'RE TURNING ...
Edited on Sat Sep-13-08 09:43 AM by President Decider
Try as they might, I think the MSM is realizing that they cannot cover for McCain-Bush/Palin any longer.

The will of the people to get this right is too loud and strong.

The very same time people started putting pressure on the MSM to actually do some real investigative journalism on Palin and hold her accountable to her extreme world views, religion, lies, and current Troopergate investigation .... you now see the tides and tone starting to change. And guess what, it 'ain't good for McCain/Palin.

1. I'm a harder sell and will need a more sustained sampling pool of
media who call McCain to task, but yes, I have been surprised in recent days at a kind of sea-change.

He's not getting the free ride on the same scale that Dubya got against Kerry and Gore.

17. LOL As grating as she was when she kept saying that, I will
never get tired of anybody else saying it.

3. Let's hope so.
If McCain actually wins, there WILL by 'buyer's remorse' on the part of the electorate, and a good part of the blame will fall on the media for not doing its job and exposing these people for what they really are.

4. There were more Nazis in Germany willing to gas Jews than
there were Nazis willing to hang their Mom and Dad for defeatism or the 11 year-old neighbor kid for desertion. McSame and Miss Piggy are so far past the competence/sanity border that the media types are becoming unwilling to shill for them.

5. I think you are right! Keep calling and writing to them ...Let them know that they
are partially responsible for beating the drums to WAR and that they have blood on their hands for lying to the American people! Do not give up! Let them know WE will no longer tolerate their LIES!

6. ummm...i think they will show and say whatever turns a profit for them
so they will cover whatever they think gets the better ratings

good ratings = ad dollars

ad dollars = how they pay the bills and the big wigs

18. Put more simply: Television exists ONLY to sell products. Period. It is not to "entertain"
or to "inform".
It is to SELL.

19. Exactly.
I keep pointing this out here. All these people who think the media are right-wing shills really don't get it. A shattered economy isnt going to put any more sheckels in the pockets of their stockholders, and that is, literally, the bottom line for them.

7. It makes me wonder how much Obama's calling them out had to do with it
I mean when you've got a major candidate that basically tells the media they're carrying McDumbDumb's water, and there's no way to deny it. Then you've got another major candidate who refuses to speak to the press unless she's given "deference" and when she finally does talk to the press it bombs...

They just can't play make believe at the moment.

internet, and even if the MSM ignores a story, WE can get it out.

The jig is up.

12. I totally disagree - Palin is just the latest shiney new object to drive ratings.
When they get tired of playing with her and the ratings are dropping even just a little, they'll move on to whatever shiny new object is in front of them.

14. That's the point of my post. The "new toy" effect is already wearing off forcing MSM's hand

To start asking REAL questions and investigating stories to find REAL truths.

15. I disagree
The MSM is not interested in truth. It's interested in money. When people stop watching, and they will, the MSM will move on to something else regardless of "truth". Right now, interviewing Palin is profitable. They aren't "hammering" her or "investigating" her or anything else. I personally think they are handling her with kid gloves but she is SO lame that even that looks like a rough handling.

Just MHO.

13. Credit Obama some, but I agree.
Letting McCain/Palin in the White House would be as bad as letting Bush/Cheney rush us into Iraq. The media are learning that they have to be relevant to keep their jobs. They can't just be "access" whores.
