An idea for an ad: "WAKE UP!"
Edited on Sat Sep-13-08 10:10 AM by jenmito
Have a couple watching McCain standing next to Palin who's giving her stump speech. The woman says to her husband, "I LIKE that woman. She reminds me of myself." Then switch to the same woman getting a call from the Sec. of Def. or someone similar. She doesn't understand what's going on but the voice on the other end says, "The president is unavailable so I need YOU to tell me what to do..." She looks confused after hearing the voice go on saying something we can't quite make out. Suddenly, she sits up in bed scared, realizing she'd been dreaming. Then a voice says, "WAKE UP before HER nightmare becomes OUR reality."

Just an idea.

4. It's just showing people what could happen if they vote for someone just because she's like them.

That ad will show the consequences of doing that.

6. The ad is tough but I think it could be effective
The McCain camp could fire back and say well Palin has executive experience while Obama doesnt.

I think the Obama camp needs to highlight Palin's lack of foreign policy experience. Be more specific.

9. Thanks for commenting...
this ad is SUPPOSED to highlight her lack of foreign policy experience and her possible need to have it. I guess my idea wasn't as good as I thought. But thanks for the input! :hi:

7. "It's 3 am. Your children are safe and asleep...
"...but somewhere in your house, a phone is ringing. Something's happening in the world.

"You pick it up.

"'Hello?'

"'Hello, this is the White House. We're having an emergency, and we're not sure what to do, and we're looking for your next-door neighbor. We can't seem to get her on the phone, and we thought maybe you could knock on her door or ring her bell and wake her up.'

"'But...shouldn't the president be deciding what to do?'

"'The president is unavailable. We are contacting your next-door neighbor because she's a hockey mom, and even you'll admit she seems like a nice woman, and we've heard that your neighbors consider her plucky and gutsy...'

"'What??'

"'And when she learned that her daughter was pregnant, she told her that she had to stand up and be an adult and marry the father of that baby. Don't you admire her for that? Now, please, knock on her door or ring the bell and tell her that Pakistan and Russia just...'

(Cut to woman on phone in dark, looking terrified)

"Who do you want answering that phone? Someone with real experience? Or someone just like the woman next door?"

12. Thanks, Monty...
I'm sure they would but that's getting old-accusing Obama of insulting, demeaning, disrespecting, etc. They have NO ideas of their own except to just use the word "change" now.

I'd like to see an identical interview with Gibson & Biden, then run the answers along side each other. You hear Gibson, then Palin, then Biden, and ultimately the question - Who is more qualified?, or something similar. And all the edited stuff has to be shown.

22. I think your idea for a commercial is brilliant
It may resonate with millions of potential Democrat voters who, at the moment, feel that they ARE experiencing a nightmare.

kick and recommended

experiencing a nightmare"? It's meant to make anyone who's planning on voting for her because they feel they relate to her story.

25. Obviously, I didn't make myself very clear.
Your idea for a commercial is excellent. It should make many voters who may have swung back to McCain, sit up and take notice. At the moment, with all the positive publicity Palin is getting from the right wing media, it makes me feel like I'm experiencing a nightmare. I think that it is time for all Democrats to come out with all guns blazing.

I have been involved in elections in Australia for many, many years, and I came to the conclusion a long time ago, not to overestimate the intelligence of the average voter.

"voters who may have swung back to McCain" makes much more sense. I understand what you're saying now. Thanks again. :hi:
